You hold the "A" button down on the right part and slowly draw it back towards your body. This would emulate the actual movement of a bow and arrow. With Gyration you could even feel the resistance tighten as you draw the arrow father back.

For some reason, even though thats not groundbreaking, made my jaws drop. That's a pretty hectic idea.

General Gaming / RE:Next gen CPUs suck.

I heard somewhere that the 360 doesn't have a sound card either and that one of it's CPU's thread (or whatever) will handle all the sound and music for the machine. I don't know if that's a fact though.

Wow. While I never expected the consoles to live up to their technical hype it's suprising how weak and disappointing the CPUs are. Im no tech-head but the '360's got f***en THREE 3.0 Ghz processors o.O!! How the hell did that end up being equivalent to only 2x the power of the Xbox 733mhz chip....

Sorry for double posting but I just need to double check. Is RGB better than S-video??

Nintendo Gaming / Are SCART cables good?
« on: July 04, 2005, 06:36:13 PM »
I dont know where else to post this so I'll just post it here. I recently bought a new TV thinking it was a HDTV but when it arrived to my door I soon found out it that it doesnt actually take regular component inputs(damm you Ebay). It does accept S-Video, RGB, YCrCb, YPrPb etc.. but only through a SCART input. The only reason I bought a new TV was to play my GC games in 480p and now I have a feeling that Im screwed. I was just wondering if I bought a SCART cable for my GC would it produce better picture quality(480p)? or would it just be the same picture as the yellow,red,white-composite cable. Any answers would be helpful and appreciated.

Sony could easily steal Nintendo's idea and release a new controller with the new features after the console's launch like they did with the joystick and then no-body cares who came up with it first anymore...

Hey guys,

A friend of mine has received his DS early this morning through DVD Crave.  Unfortunately, it's all dodgy.  The problems include:

- System will stop responding to touch screen input after about a minute of being turned on
- Power light stays on when system is off
- Occasionally bottom touch screen flashing on and off, top screen fine

Oddly enough, any GBA games work fine.

Could you guys post here if any of you have had problems with your DS systems (if any of you are lucky enough to have gotten them early)?  We'd just like to know if this is an isolated problem or if it affects more DS systems.

Cheers,

Ben

You're friend got screwed...

Last week i put it in a pocket that had lots of dirt in it (LaserStrike beotch) and my dpad started to get stuck/seemed unresponsive. two days of extensive play sorted that right out, now it works like a charm.

then tonite when i was coming home from the gym i hit a spin move and my DS went flying out of my pocket and landed right on a paved sidewalk. It's got a nasty chink in it's armor, but again this puppy is still kickin like it's brand new.  Its a little stiffer when i insert/remove games now, but hell im just thankful my DS is still working without a problem. (cept for a 2 cm scratch in the very middle of my touch screen)

With your luck you should be chained into your own home and never be released.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Australians can now test the DS
« on: February 18, 2005, 12:57:45 AM »
Ok I know this is totally off the topic and irrelevant to anything but did anyone notice how horrible the Australian DS adverts are? What happened to the hot and sexy voice? These new adverts are dissapointing, just when Nintendo starts making decent ads Nintendo of Australia has to ruin them.

Well that's a pleasant suprise, though I cant see that ever happening in my school, EVER.

Yea but they're a games dedicated website, they should already recognise Nintendo. If it was just some electronics website or software website maybe it's understandable, but that poll is just plain insulting.

Well.  If nintendo uses a cartridged optical disc (like the latest rumors seem to think), they can build a memory card into the cartridge.  The traditional memory card comes in only as overspill.  This would also kill the need to include a hard drive.  It's function in the XBOX was mostly as a Giant memory card.  The playstation used it as a big cache for final fantasy and other games that were badly inhibited by the ps2's slow dvd drive.

Well if Nintendo wants to take the Revolution online, which they have stated that they want to, I think it would be better if they built a hard drive into the console.

      Engadget

How the hell does this work?! This is just craziness. Who is this guy, I mean first he claims he can make your breasts larger with ringtones and at the end of the article he says he'll soon find a way to make you more attractive to the opposite sex... WITH RINGTONES!       Does anyone else believe this would actually work???

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Left handed!
« on: September 25, 2004, 09:59:15 PM »
What Nintendo could do is enable the DS to be played upside down with the images being displayed upside down and all the buttons and stuff working in reverse. Then you could control the D-pad with the right hand and use the stylus with your left. After all, the button layout are in a rhombus pattern so it wouldn't matter if you held it upside down. This would be a cost effective solution but I really highly doubt Nintendo would do such a thing.

Try Super Smash Bros Melee. This game is action packed and hectic. I still play this game with my friends and its mad fun with 4 players. It is somewhat overrated and shallow but its VERY cheap so you cant complain...

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Mario 128?
« on: September 23, 2004, 02:24:57 AM »
I doubt another Mario title will appear on the GC especially not Mario 128. Personally I think if Mario 128 does exist it can not possibly live up to the level of expectations and hype that it has created. Dont get me wrong I'm not doubting Shigeru Miyamoto, but everyone expects the next mario to be highly innovative and do amazing stuff thats never been done in video games and I just think some people will end up disappointed. Also if he's still deciding what platform he wants to develope it on then surely it must mean that it hasn't been in the programming stage for very long. Doesn't it????????? or maybe im just stupid.. which is probably the case.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Soul Calibur
« on: September 20, 2004, 11:10:33 PM »
This would be soo cool as Soul Calibur 2 is one of my favourite games I've ever played. I seriously doubt the DS version "will look and sound exactly like the DC version". DS graphics is just above N64 quality graphics, I doubt it could look as good as the DC version. Even if Namco decided to remake the DC version, they should throw Link in there. That would definately ensure positive sales.

Yea, she's kinda cute but I reckon its kinda stupid how most of the ad she just stands there stareing at the DS. I just dont get that, but then I aint Japanese. Good commercial though.

I totally disagree with everything you just said. The market is full of casual gamers, all they want is blood and gore. That's why Nintenod isn't first in the console wars, cause everyone thinks their childish. WW sold less than the mature-looking OOT & MM. Also, since when would having a 16+ rating chase away all the younger gamers? I've seen 9 year olds play GTA.
