TalkBack / Re: Ocarina of Time 3D in the Works!

Man, I hope this comes out. I LOVE buying Ocarina of Time. I could buy it again and again.

But seriously, that would make a beautiful showcase for the 3DS so I really do want it.

"The real crime is that Myst simply hasn’t aged well."

No, the real crime is that the DS version is a thoughtless and inherently broken port. The iPhone port showed that with a little love, the game still looks and plays great.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the "note-taking feature," that hideous and worthless typewriter thing. And I'm surprised you listed the screenshot capture as a plus when it only stores one picture and is rather inconsistent about doing so.

They never released the Trace Memory sequel in the US did they? I would have bought that one :(

I assume the Wii version has a rather substantial audience of people who have no idea that there's a PC version. It seemed to work out well for the Strong Bad games.

Also, this game does seem to be particularly well-suited for the Wii controls, since you have direct control of Guybrush's movement with the nunchuck, and you interact with objects and people by pointing and clicking with the remote.

I'd probably buy the game if "Smooth" were in it, but it's not, so I won't.

I'm not ashamed to say that I would probably use this. Some of the boss fights in NSMB were more irritating than fun, for me.

I wonder why they're not utilizing the touch screen for any of these games.  They know the DS has one, right?

Who's developing these games, anyway?

Have you tried Guitar Rock Tour? It looks like shovelware (and has hilarious shovelly cutscenes) but the guitar gameplay is the perfect GH/EBA hybrid.

A lot of people are happy about the "any combination of instruments" idea, but I wonder how it'll work. If everybody plays the exact same chart, it kind of loses the "band" magic* in my eyes. If they break up the charts to feel more like co-op, I'd like that.

*not that GHWT ever really had "the magic" anyway

Cool, but how about an adaptor that lets you play GameCube games wirelessly without a Wavebird, just using a standard GCN controller?

Wireless extension cord?

I'm sure it's just a "costume" for Indy. No time-travel explanation required.

I am still interested in how they will make a full band song out of White Stripes songs since the band only has a drummer and a guitarist/vocalist.

When they've had songs in GHWT with no vocals or no drums, they let that player freestyle through the whole song. That'd be harder to do with Bass, obviously, but maybe with the music studio engine they could do it?

I'm glad to see Rolling Stones is back in the music game business, apparently without demanding their own game. Here's hoping we see more of them in Rock Band as well. Sympathy for the Devil is one of my favorite songs.

$20 price tag and N64 controller support sounds like a buy for me. If I can find an n64 controller whose analog stick isn't ground to a fine powder.

How can they seriously make a Guitar Hero 5? There was never a game called Guitar Hero 4.

16
Were the new character close-up animations they made for this remake exclusive to the DS version?

17
This just feels like a waste of a disc. I'd much rather that these songs be added as DLC to GHWT (or Rock Band, ideally :p), so I could pick out the 6 or 7 songs I actually want and buy those.

Hmm, this seems like a standard Rock Band release in terms of instruments. Why is it so expensive then?
The instruments are also going to be pretty "fancy," I assume. Probably bigger and more elaborate than their standard Rock Band versions.

No silly dream sequences. Phantom Hourglass = Season 8 of "Dallas."

Or, you know, Link's Awakening.

Also, I like the train. Different Zelda games supposedly take place hundreds of years apart, so it makes sense that there'd be differing levels of technology. It's actually always bothered me (just a bit) that the world has seemed relatively static in that regard.

« on: March 25, 2009, 07:43:17 PM »
One subtle but GREAT thing is that now, on the Wii system memory manager thing, in addition to the "Copy" and "Erase" buttons, there's a "Move" button, which makes the unwieldy two-step process into a much quicker one-step process. That'll make moving a bunch of stuff from the system memory to the SD card a smoother process overall.

I can't believe they're charging 5 dollars for these games. They are inherently worth less than NES games.

According to EA Chief Operations Officer John Pleasants, the Wii-exclusive Dead Space spin-off will be "taking advantage of the MotionPlus controller."

Should have been more suspicious of that half-quote

I actually changed it because color is off. whatever i'm changing it again to something cool

I'll be on the lookout for when you do, but for now it appears to be Superman. :P

It's Russian Superman from Red Son

I love the original Bubble Bobble, but when was the last time they made a version that wasn't terrible?
