Oh, so that's why I didn't get a foam Layton hat with my review copy. I see how it is Pale.

It would have cost like 3 times as much to ship! =P

Now I have to ebay this foam hat. I feel disgraced and abused by the NWR establishment. I believe it's time for change in leadership.

The punishment for sedition is to be locked in a room with Ian Sane and a list of Nintendo games.

You know, I may be able to help you out in that regard. I just happen to be working on a little side project that if successful could make all your wildest dreams come true.

I heard everyone hyping this game for the past few months and it didn't sound very interesting. I tried it out and within 5 minutes I knew I had to buy it. At first I thought I might like it better if it were just the puzzles, this is my first graphic adventure and it took a little while before I got used to the mechanics, but now this has got me interested in finding other titles in the genre. I'm only a half hour into this one and I already can't wait for the sequel.

I've heard the voice acting is actually good, can anyone confirm this?

That is indeed true. I was very impressed upon turning on the game. The animation is quite nice as well.

This game is definitely something special and I can honestly recommend it to anyone who likes brain teasers with some adventure gaming. The weekly puzzle is also an awesome feature, and the one featured this week is great (turning 5 boxes into 4).

So I totally merged the Layton topic from the new board with the Layton topic from the old board, and it seems to have worked well!

Spiffy!

Just started playing it. OMG. This game is like a virtual interactive version of those sorts of books with puzzles and brain-teasers and eye-spy games that have a loose story connecting each page's mystery. SO AWESOME.

I can't stop playing this. I pick up my DS with the intention of doing a few puzzles and the next thing I know I've been playing for 2 and a half hours. Downloadable puzzles are nice, but do you think there's any chance of Nintendo bumping the sequel up to next week?

I spent $180 for this game and I don't think that was a bad purchase.  This game is excellent but I hate Pitcher puzzles.

(For the record I can't seem to download the Downloadable Puzzles.)

He probably bought a DS Lite in order to play the game.  $150 + $30 = $180

The DS hasn't been $150 in a long time, and the Lite never was, it's $130.

Yep, I bought the game where I could find it, which was GameStop (Small Town), went home and charged my Original DS, haven't played it in a few months.  Got the game into the DS and and went to touch begin.  It wouldn't reqister.  Tried calibration but that wouldn't work.  Called Nintendo they had me clean the sides of my screen.  That didn't work.  I really wanted to play the game so I had looked at the budget and found I had enough to get DSLite without breaking the back.  My wife Picked up the only DSLite they had at Walmart, A Blue and Back one.  Its got that roughy feel but I'm so oily that shiny blue part is really greased up.  Though that day was bad to begin with but I won't go into that here.

This game is infinitely charming.

I question the existence of one's soul if they do not like the game.

I played this game pretty much nonstop for the entire weekend.  I've completed 115 puzzles and nearing the end.

Has there been any word on when they're planning to bring over Pandora's Box?  I don't think I can wait a year.

Awesome little game.

We need more games like this.
"OK, first we need someone to complain about something trivial. Golden or S_B should do. Then we get someone to defend the game, like Bill or Mashiro. Finally add some Unclebob or Pro666 randomness and the thread should go to hell right away." -Pap64

Is anybody else put off by the inanity of the storyline in this game? I love the puzzles, but I mean, who stops to make hotel reservations while chasing a cat? And this guy is supposed to be a genius? And how did the cat cross the stream anyway?
