This game from developer Level 5 (The dudes behind the Dark Cloud series) was announced for US release. I've heard Chris Kohler raving about it since the beginning of the year and after reading this and other previews, I'm excited about it. It drops this year.

I'll be picking it up on day one (along with SSBB).  I've been extremely interested in this game for ages.  I love the art style.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Is this the only Professor Layton thread we have?  That's ridiculous!

GameStop.com (of all places) has a great preview video up on their product page for this game.  Check it out!  But be sure not to purchase it from them because they're doing that retarded thing where they sell a $30 game for $35.

Instead, get it from one of these fine retail establishments.

I picked this one up today.  Awesome game so far, but then I loved Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory...

The previews I've seen so far make this game look more like a puzzle game ala 7th Guest than an adventure game with dialog trees.

Next week, puzzle game purchase for me.  This should be a good distraction from Advance Wars, although I'm always up for a Wifi match anytime.  Has anyone heard whether or not the game will feature downloadable puzzles like it did in Japan?

This game seems to be getting a lot of buzz. I don't get it, other DS adventure and puzzle games are ignored. Is it the Top Hat?

Edit: I guess my previous title was confusing and disrespectful to the spirit of NWR. Thanks for fixing the horrible title re-educating me! Feel free to delete or merge this thread, perhaps create the official NWR Professior Layton instead of this one. Whichever serves the forums better.

I wear my foam Professor Layton top hat all over the office.  It makes me feel special.  Sometimes I hide things in it.

I bought mine from the Nintendo Store and they made a big fuss about me buying the game. It turned out that I was the first person to buy the game. They took a lot of pictures of me in the foam hat and made me sign some forms. My geek badge will be printed somewhere for you all to point and laugh soon.

I wish they'd promote Zack & Wiki like they're promoting this game. Still, from what little I played, it seems like it's a worthy cause.

Nintendo's pushing Layton because they're publishing it.  Zack and Wiki's "pushing" was something Capcom should have taken care of.

It'sd got voice-acted anime. That's why everyone's drooling.

I need to import this with gusto. They should have renamed it to Awesome Training: Train Your Taste In Minutes A Day or something though.

I'm not impressed with the video, I actually like the puzzles because they're killing me and it's uncompromising against all gamers as there is no difficulty level. Two sequels have been confirmed as well.
