TalkBack / Re: Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (3DS) Review

If I was to put Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan / Elite Beat Agents at a 10 then Project Mirai definitely feels like a 6.5

Tried the demo. Europe only gets 1 use, are they joking? Well after starting up the demo I found there's a song called LOL...

Anyway, I played it all in tap mode because when trying button mode the resistance on the 3DS buttons meant I would often screw up the timing.

I think the first song Senbonzakura is setup pretty well where even in hard mode it feels enjoyable. I managed to get a perfect on this too.

LOL on the other hand doesn't feel like it had the same care and attention going in to it. The lines start to go in strange directions where there are notes placed right on the corners making the timing harder to gauge and really confusing when the lines start to go in tight squares. The song also feels lacking in a noticeable beat to help keep your rhythm.

The touchscreen button placement doesn't feel well optimised on hard mode, with 3 buttons sectioned in to triangles.

You can place your stylus near the upper middle part of the screen but you risk hitting the wrong note if your hand strays. I wish there was a way to edit the placement of these because with me being a lefty I feel more comfortable with just using the left portion of the touch screen.

I've been awaiting a rhythm game as good as Elite Beat Agents / Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan for a long time now, sadly I don't think this is the one.

Thanks to the region locking I can't play the Taiko no Tatsujin games either.

Dammit, I thought that was a reference to Eminem. I really do get one use of the demo, idiots, don't they want me to get hooked on this demo?

Hey guys, just got my capture card and I'm testing it out. Here's a short video of me trying out the Splatling during a game of Tower Control. 21-4 but we lost.

Nice and smooth 60fps capture. The splatling is actually at its most powerful while its on the tower, it can easily hold off choke points this is because you can't move very fast while you're charging but the tower changes that.

£9 is robbery. Why would you allow your fans to rob you Nintendo?

I don't want any of the limited edition stuff. I guess I'll just pick up the digital version.

If the levelling up system follows the same pattern all the way through then to get to level 50 you're looking at 2.7 million points to get there. That's 10 times more than what it took you to reach 20.

Quickest way to reach there is to play ranked matches and be good. otherwise you're looking  at 2700 Turf Wars.

I dislike capacitive touch screens for gaming, the lack of accuracy is a sore point. They may be accurate 99% of the time with the way software predicts what you actually meant to touch but that 1% when it doesn't work is incredibly irritating.

If they were able to make a capacitive AND resistive touch where the software can decide what to use then that would be for the best.

Camp Triggerfish. I was a bit miffed that out of the 10 games I had, I randomly got Black Belly Skate Park 8 times.

Anyway, when Splatoon gets party matchmaking, this will be the map that decides who has the better team work. At the start you need a good balance of 2 on offense and 2 on defense. Once the clock runs down to 1 minute the defenders become attackers. I love it.

The stability of the games has been pretty good this time round. Out of my 152 games, I've been diconnected 2 times and have been put on a 3v4 game 4 times.

Nintendo said Federation Force was about expanding the Metroid universe but this looks way too goofy to look like it could be canon.

I thought you guys might like one of the Iwata Asks parodies I read a long time ago.

Iawata Asks Hawkeye

I played the fan translated version of Fatal Frame 4 on a hacked Wii and I loved it. It wasn't the typical horror adventure type game. There was a kind of collection meta game where you would photograph sneaky hidden out of the way ghosts and the combat felt satisfying.

It's a shame Nintendo won't get it translated and offer it on Wii virtual console.

I want detailed spreadsheets or this is all BS.

Unfortunately Splatoon does not keep track of kills so I'm kind of lying there. Though thinking on it now it might be over 2000.

Here's my Miiverse post from 6th of May

I'll update this post with a more recent screenshot later. I have a million in gold now.

From my Miiverse post - UPDATE:

Not that hard to reach if you play a lot of ranked. You get a maximum of 4500 in gold for winning in A+. I would have more gold but I already spent a half million in slots before the first Splatfest.

I'll be disappointed if this doesn't have Splatoon style motion controls.

Favorite weapons? Most used (ink points) weapon?
I've been bouncing between Shooters, avoiding being a tryhard with an Aerospray. Using a Blaster on Tower Control is frighteningly effective.
Nothing wrong with the Aerospray, I've got a good 80,000 points on it. Can be one of the most annoying weapons to fight against if handled properly.

I guess my favourite weapon would be the .96 Gal, I have around 250,000 ink points on it. Second is the Dual Squelcher with around 120,000. I counted up all the ink points for all my weapons and it totals around 900,000

and then there's this guy I came across.

Needless to say this inkling was very effective with this weapon on turf wars which is why I exited the game to check out her profile.

I have 140 hours in Splatoon, Ranked A+ 99, I have over 2000 confirmed kills. Ask me anything noobs.

Various sources that will remain anonymous suggest there are an incredible amount of plot elements and plot physics in the game.

I'm glad they changed Copperhead in the new 52 reboot. He just looks ridiculous with that snake costume. I'm pretty sure I never saw him use any snake arms ability either in the old Justice League animation.

21
Disappointment usually happens when hype doesn't match reality. I've never bought in to all the hype so I've never really been disappointed.

I never really felt Nintendo owed me anything either.

22
Fire Emblem doesn't strike me as the type of game that should be on a home console. It can be on home consoles but iwouldn't gain any gameplay enhancements as a result.

Well I'm hoping more jump on the bandwagon before the release of Bayonetta 2. Starting development in 2014 will mean we won't seeing much until 2016-2017.

They didn't really show anything that made unique use of the gamepad.  That's what the Wii U is all about!

Nintendo is a publicly traded company and are beholden to their shareholders. Despite what any of you may feel about what Nintendo owes you as a fan, they have to work to turn a profit to pay those dividends. Nintendo owes you nothing unless you're a shareholder.

You may think Miyamoto has a poor excuse, but really can you think of anything that would make F-Zero new and exciting, and turn it in to a commercial success?

Time is money and until someone can think of a solution then that time & money is best spent elsewhere.
