Welcome to the 48th Official NWR Mafia Game! The first of a new year. And something a bit different this time at least for me. A joint-hosted mafia game by Thatguy and myself. We've been
batting around this idea for sometime and we're proud to finally get to it. For the first time in a long time, neither Thatguy or myself will be
playing and it should be interesting to see what happens without us getting targetted early and causing distractions. That said, we've tinkered
with an idea to allow us to play a bit in this game.
However, I'm sure you're all eager to get playing again so let's get to it!
The Theme
It's surprising that we haven't really done a Comics theme yet since it's ripe with opportunities. Thatguy and myself
are both quite familiar with the DC Universe so we are going with that as our theme and story basis. Any character
from the DC Universe is open for the taking for those wishing to roleplay.
The StoryMore details on the story to come. For now, to quickly sum it up, a device capable of controlling all time and space
has been activated fracturing the DCU which means any character dead or living can be roaming around from any
time period in the DCU. The Heroes (townies) won't to find the device before the villians (mafia) to ensure that time
and space are repaired properly and prevent the villians from using such power for their own nefarious purposes. In
addition, there will be two mafias. One made up of Earth Villians and one made up of Space Villians. That's just evil!
The RulesThe Basic Rules:

Everyday each player is allowed to vote for whomever they believe is mafia. Since all roles remain anonymous, mafia members will vote along with the townies.
Each day a new thread will be made and will open up with a narrative. Each player then has the chance to vote off another player. Simply type in
BOLD for whom you wish to vote. You may change your vote as much as you like but you only get 1 vote a day.
Every night, the mafia is able to make one hit. These are not based on calendar numbers, but rather on game days. The only one who may contact the game-master with the kill is the Godfather. Because there are two mafias in thie game, one mafia will make a hit on odd game days and the other will make a hit on even game days.
For the townies to win, they must kill all mafia members and "Other" roles.
For the mafia to win, they only need to tie the game. I.E., there are two townies left and two mafia members left. However, a mafia would also have to eliminate the other opposing mafia and kill the "Other" roles just the same as the townies.
For the "Other" roles to win, they would have to fulfill the requirements of their role. Those requirements are explained in each role description.
Finally, the townies and mafias will have members with special abilities to help give them an advantage. Those roles and abilities will be detailed under the ROLES section of the rules.
The RolesThe roles will be posted as I gather more pictures. This is our response to Shyguy's AAA mafia game and we intend
to meet it. I can, however, give you a tease as to what to expect.
Heroes (Townies)
Batman - This player can not be killed by The Joker, Mafia hit or the Daily Vote unless someone
applies "The Perfect Trap" item against him that day. Then his immunity is taken away
but only for that day. The only exception would be a successful hit by Bane or Darkseid.
As well, he has the ability to investigate any player of his choosing each night. His is
the only investigative role where he get a correct result back everytime no matter what
the role is. Even Godfather roles he can see. The only way he gets a false result is if he
is under the control of Starro or Gorilla Grodd.
Superman - This player can not be killed by The Joker, Mafia hit or the Daily Vote unless someone
applies Kryptonite against him that day. Then his immunity would be taken away but
only for that day. The only exception would be a successful hit by Doomsday or Metallo.
As well, he has the power to protect any player of his choosing except himself. Moreover,
no item or ability can break his protection. The only way his protection fails is if he is
under the control of Starro or Gorilla Grodd and they send his protection else where.
Wonder Woman - Wonder Woman is a townie with the ability to kill. She is the vigilante role. She can
can choose to eliminate any player she wants (1 per day) but they have to be a
guilty party. Either Mafia or the Joker. If she kills a townie, then she is eliminated
from the game. There is one exception. If she is under the control of Starro or
Gorilla Grodd and they make her hit a townie, she will not be eliminated from the
game since she was not in control of herself. As well, any kill restrictions that a
player may have apply to her. So, if she puts a hit on Superman but he hasn't been
weakened by Kryptonite, the hit is ineffective and she survives such a mistake. Hey,
sometimes heroes fight amongst themselves.
Mafia Roles: 
Other Roles:
The Joker - The Killer. Every night, he can choose any player he wants to eliminate from the game. He only
wins by eliminating every player and being the last one standing. The only kill restrictions the
Joker has is that he must use "The Perfect Trap" to kill Batman and Kryptonite to kill Superman.
He can not kill those two roles on his own.
Further Game Rules In this mafia game, there will be a point system again. I will make a point system section in
the rules detailing how they work and what abilities/items a player can get with their points.
With regards to the mafia roles and why there are so many. Not every role will be used. In
effort to make things a bit more exciting and provide more strategy, each mafia will choose
the roles they want. The goal is to have 2 mafias with 5 players each. Obviously, that may
change based on player turnout but that is the goal. Neither mafia will know what roles the
other mafia has chosen until the game begins on Feb. 21st. So, we could end up with two
completely different mafias or two very similar mafias. Who knows how that may all play out.
Be sure to check back on Feb. 20 in case you have been selected as mafia as you will need
to figure out which roles you want. If you don't show up, Thatguy and myself will choose a
role for you. Thatguy would choose for the Space Mafia and I would choose for the Earth
Mafia.
Keep checking back in the this thread as I will post whenever further details are revealed.
It should be noted that Thatguy and myself are still tweaking things over so there could be
a slight change to a role before game time but we will notify you on any change.
At this point, we just need to post and explain about the point system at some point and we
should be good to go. If you have any questions so far, just ask.
