While Nintendo is hesitant to admit anything as the "content and announcements are still being finalized," they are reportedly set to announce "a number of new products."

According to the http://mobile.nsjournal.jp/column/cnews.php?id=111074">Nihon Securities Journal, Nintendo is scheduled to hold a press conference on October 2 in Japan. They are scheduled to announce "a number of new products" at the fall event.

Nintendo held a similarly timed press conference last year . In 2007, Nintendo talked about market and sales data, showed off the then-upcoming WiiWare service, and announced that Capcom was bringing Monster Hunter 3 to the Wii exclusively.

When reached for comment by http://www.edge-online.com/news/nintendo-confirms-autumn-press-conference">Edge Online Nintendo confirmed that they are indeed having a press conference on the specified date. However, they declined to provide anything else, stating that they are "not announcing anything (about the press conference) at this time."

This press conference comes a week before the annual Tokyo Game Show which Nintendo is not attending.

So they haven't formally finalized any potential game announcements that could possibly be confirmed as formally in development.

I will formally withhold my excitement until more substantial announcements can be finally be announced at a formal pre-press conference conference.

E3 was a flop and a lie coupled with "It's not the place for that." So, I just feel like they owe us. Yet, I find it really hard to get at all excited about it.

Well, here's to good tidings.

Eh... I hope any new product will introduce new characters rather than more franchise installments. Though, I wouldn't exactly mind a promising new Star Fox or another F-Zero game. Hey, maybe Kid Icarus Wii will become a reality!
