TalkBack / Re: My Problem with Pokémon X and Y
« on: October 16, 2013, 06:27:19 PM »
I've also had this problem but sadly I don't think there's a good answer.  I basically gave up trying to cycle out Pokemon because it's just too much for me to worry about.  The only thing I try to stay with is having 3 original Pokemon and 3 newer Pokemon (because I have no idea about them. I haven't played Pokemon since Red!)  Other than that rule I basically just stick to whoever I like at that moment and only change up if someone looks cool or I really want to switch out to take on a certain element,

General Gaming / Re: What games do you never get tired of?

As long as I have some friends around, Smash Bros Melee or Brawl!

Also, Megaman 2-3, X-X2, Final Fantasy VII (bought that game 3 different times so far...)

I think it's both a mixture of great gameplay and nostalgia that gets me to play games over and over again.  If you have great memories playing a game and those come back as soon as you boot it up, it's hard to get sick of it!

I have this DLed on my 3DS right now and really looking forward to it.  I was worried about jumping into it while playing Shin Megami Tensei IV but if it's only 3-5 hours I might just marathon it one day soon.  I'm really glad we're getting games like this on the 3DS!

Hey guys!

I'd love to join in here and get some friends/towns to visit.  I bought New Leaf on a whim because of all the internet fanfare but don't know anyone else who bought it :(

Shadows of the Damned was my favorite game of his.  I platinumed it and everything.  Something about it just clicked for me.  No More Heroes was great.  I've definitely gotten to the point where anything attached to Suda or Grasshopper I'm immediately interested in.  Even the shitty stuff like Diabolical Pitch.... :/ haha but in the end, I'm just glad the industry has games like his.

TalkBack / Re: Wreck-It Ralph: A Movie Review

I agree that the movie spends too much time in Sugar Rush but in the end, it fits the story well enough so I could forgive it.  The biggest disappointment is that the beginning of the movie spends so much time playing around with these video game references that it almost feels awkward that the second half of the movie almost does away with them completely.

It's still a terrific movie and like the guys on Connectivity were saying, watch the credits.  They pay homage to a lot of different games too in a pretty fun way.  Last thing, Henry Jackman's score for the movie was great too.

TalkBack / Re: Grasshopper Manufacture's Heroine Addiction
« on: October 22, 2012, 12:06:46 PM »
Grasshopper Manufacture is one of my favorite developers simply for continuing to create games outside of the norm.  Even like this article describes, not only do they go outside the box by creating strong female roles, but they also create a new experience with almost every game they put out.  I admire and respect the risk they take with each new title as well as their drive to put out more and more content on multiple platforms.  I'm not going to say their games are masterpieces.  Every one I've played is far from perfect.  But seeing a company that seems to do exactly what they want and creates games unlike anything I've played for keeps me quick to fork over some cash and keep them business.

...Even when they make mistakes like Diabolic Pitch for the Kinect...

Still excited for Liberation Maiden this Thursday though!
