What didn't Nintendo bring this year?
« on: June 11, 2019, 07:45:10 PM »
It was a great Direct, Nintendo killed it at E3, it was the best showing of all the companies by a noticeable margin.

But enough of that. What didn't we see?

Shin Megami Tensei V

https://youtu.be/YLSrGiiy95U

I don't know much about this series, It's related to Persona somehow and it's too Satanic looking for me. No show!

Bayonetta 3

https://youtu.be/Ti-i40Ez6KY

Another Satanic looking game, this one is a highly anticipated character action game. No show!

Metroid Prime 4

https://youtu.be/zLIv_UXI_So

They teased us early, they fired the first group of developers and started over, then brought back the name that made them famous, Retro Studios. It honestly wasn't expected this year but still a no show!

Retro Studios Projects?

Star Fox Racing? Hahahahaha. Retro continues to tease us with nothing! No Show!

Mini Switch/Switch Plus/Whatever you want to call it
.

Nothing of new Switches mentioned. A mini could still be in the works for this year according to rumors, keep your eyes peeled! No Show!

Miyamoto

The Man, the myth, the Legend. It was odd not having Miyamoto showing up at E3, and it kinda shook me a little bit. Apparently he was replaced by Keanu Reeves.

So, what else was a no show this year?

Pretty sure Miyamoto was on stage at Xbox for the Cyberpunk game.
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.

More ports of Wii U games. I want Star Fox Zero, XCX, Super Mario 3D World, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and Wonderful 101 on Switch.

No Pikmin
No Metroid
No F-Zero
No Eternal Darkness
No Star Tropics
No Mach Rider

The list gets less realistic as it goes down.

No N64 Mini Classic it'll launch alongside Banjo

The barriers to make that happen seem to be gone now. I think the only thing that held n64 classic back was Rare content was Dominant. Goldeneye would still be a snag. I could imagine now that Banjo is in Smash that Goldeneye might be on Xbox, I think whatever rights holder for 007 would sign off and share profit there.

My Dreamlist of n64 Classic Games would be:

1 Mario 64
2 Dr Mario 64
3 Paper Mario
4 Mario Kart 64

5 Zelda: OOT
6 Zelda: MM

7 Super Smash Bros.
8 Star Fox 64

9 Goldeneye
10 Banjo Kazooie
11 Banjo Tooie
12 Diddy Kong Racing

13 Pilot Wings 64
14 Wave Race 64

15 Mystical Ninja
16 Goemon's Great Adventure
17 Castlevania 64
18 Bomberman 64
19 Bomberman 64 Second attack

20 Megaman 64

21 Quest 64

22 WCWvsNWO World Tour
23 Wrestlemania 2000 or No Mercy

24 Sin and Punishment
25 Ridge Racer 64
26 1080
27 Bomberman Hero
28 Excitebike 64
29 F-Zero X
30 Gauntlet Legends

What Nintendo should have done from the beginning of classic consoles was have a cart slot.

They could have an M rated Pack sold separately

Resident Evil 2
Perfect Dark
Killer Instinct Gold
Conker's BFD
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Mortal Kombat 4
Mortal Kombat Mythologies: SubZero
Bio Freaks
War Gods
Turok The Dinosaur Hunter
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivioun
Turok Rage Wars
Doom 64
Quake 64
Quake II
Duke Nukem 64

I imagine most things Acclaim outside of Turok would have rights so scattered that it would be difficult to put anything together. Still if that weren't a problem then:

Shadowman
ECW

I remembered another game that was a no show!

Town

https://youtu.be/oxj6ZVwYZ4Y

The other game from the Pokemon people, it was revealed in September and was a No show! at this E3. Some people thought this would be a small game, but I think it may be a bigger title if it's taking this long to make.

I wonder if Retro have had entire projects scrapped like what happened to Metroid Prime 4.

Assets should never count when projects get scrapped. I wonder how much activity is redundant?
