The Misadventures of Shangri-La
Chapter 2 - Won't Have Me to Kick Around Anymore
Here's the cliff's notes version of the story since finding images is taking too long.
With the villagers now suspicious of one another, everyone was looking out for themselves. Thus, when the Insano villager Croque tried to lord it over them to start a community league to have soccer tournaments, it rubbed the villagers the wrong way. Plus, everyone was worried the soccer balls he was handing it could be a death trap of some kind. So, they started kicking the balls back at him and balled him to death. One good kick from Mayor Khushrenada hit Croque square in the head and knocked it clean off. At least it proved he wasn't wearing a costume and was just a regular villager.
That night, under the cover of darkness, Tom Nook went to collect the money owed to him by one of his clients, Jay, a shyguy he knew he could easily rough up and extort. Fearing for his life, Jay gave him all the money he had. However, it was 3 bells short. In a rage over not paying back his debt, Tom Nook beat him to death with the bag of bells he had just acquired.
That evil guy, Tom Nook, then hurried back to Shampoodle's shop where he was hiding in disguise. However, he was surprised to find Tortimer waiting for him. Upset at being ousted from his position as Mayor for not doing anything to fight against Tom Nook's corruption, Tortimer confronted Tom Nook about it. They had a deal where Tortimer let Tom Nook do his thing as long as Tom Nook ensured he stayed Mayor and got a small percentage of profit. Tom Nook explained that he realized he no longer needed the Mayor's protection since he was just a frail old man anyways and he decided he'd rather keep the money he was paying off Tortimer with. Ordering Tortimer to leave or he'd kill him, Tom Nook sat down in one of the hair dryer chairs brandishing an axe to warn Tortimer to leave. Tortimer went to the exit but then informed Tom Nook that he had rewired the place to kill him and flicked the light switch causing the hair drying chairs to send out an electrical shock which fried Tom Nook to death.
Although the villagers were happy that Tom Nook was so quickly removed under Mayor Khushrenada's reign, he was concerned that no one knew who killed Tom Nook. Plus, they still had to find the rest of the member's of the Nookling empire who even at this moment were regrouping and conspiring to get the revenge on the villagers now that the conflict had turned bloody. And with Tom Nook dead, another group of merchants were forming their own secret organization to take control of Shangri-La.

Tom Nook is already dead and the game has just begun. Alrighty then. Looks like the 'Coon mafia is going to have to reorganize itself.

I believe the finest of all fisherman are always looking to catch a shark. Any shark will do...when I was a wee little lad I went fishing. Now, I was a small kiddo so I wasn't looking for no shark, but I did want a nice dinner. My father helped me and I reeled in a nice salmon. We of course ate it up with the rest of the catch. It was might fine. Remembering my father is something I enjoy doing. These days these city folk are running around doing work and never appreciate their family. Why when I was young, family is all you had. No games to play...except games with your imaginations and friends. Video games bah who needs them.
What, oh yeah that fish you are looking for a saw shark. I just know it. You look like a manly lad, wanting a name for himself. Saw Shark is what you desire.

Well it seems the cheater alarm system was on the fritz this time. I think my brother and I worked out the bugs *mostly ants and a cockroach… so it’s good as new…. Never mind that burning smell…
I know… I know… “Resetti, why did you have to push Insanolord so hard…” well rules are rules and I warned him and tried to help him multiple times, but some folks just don’t listen they got dirt clods in their ears or somethin’. I mean…
What, you wanna fix all the things that go wrong? You wanna snap your fingers and erase your screw-ups? Sure, who don't? I mean, pssshh, I wish I hadn't dropped outta dental school. Good money there. I REALLY wish I hadn't washed my white boxers with my red sweatshirt...BUT things happen to people who don’t follow the RULES… they’re all we got in this god forsaken city… Look I’m sorry for losing my temper back then and I’ll try to keep it in check goin’ forward, but people just don’t respect the workin’ mole anymore.
Tell ya’ what any o’ you have any good ideas to clean up this town… anybody… didn’t think so… so until I’m takin’ a dirt nap I’m gonna keep at it til’ all these CHEATERS get inline. Speakin’ of which I’m getting tired, it’s been a long day… so please… I’m beggin you don’t make me come out again for a while, and at least we can sleep a little easier now that that Nook fellow's been delt with, too bad about that blue bird he seemed like a nice fellow.
One last thing... don’t forget to brush your teeth before bed. What are you a bunch of ANIMALS? Now SCRAM!!!

Wow! Old man Tortimer is more spry than I thought! I'd be worried if I were one of you out of shape fellows like my friend the museum owl who sits and looks at dirt all day, honk! For any of my scared friends, feel free to ask me for protection from the mean old turtle. ;D
As for the fishing contest, I think the Zebra Turkeyfish is the obvious answer! Now where's my prize?

I've decided to up the prize to 2 extra votes since there are 72 fish and only 27 players left so I'm not sure the correct fish will be chosen in time and also because why the heck not.

Gosh, slushie, how about a Crucian Carp? Those can taste awesome when caught fresh from the water.
Great job catching that Nook character. Never trusted him much. I think he was a racist against humans because he always seems to charge higher prices for their homes versus our animal homes.
Though I'm not sure a 2-for-1 trade was a good enough deal. I'm going to go get myself a mocha and review the rules some more, I would like to know if this bought us some time from mafia attacks.
While the Ressetti guy is obnoxious and his machine woke me in the middle of the night, I think he means well with his contraption.
Speaking of fish someone want to get me a goldfish? 'Yeah buddy'
Anyway I feel there is something fishy going about here with nickmitch, We townies better be careful or our hopes might go downstream.

Oh Ho! It seems I have two eager fishing enthusiasts looking for my approval. I see Hopper has caught a Crucian Carp and that measures about 6.55 inches. Unfortunately, that only puts you in Second Place. Khushrenada is still in first place with his correct submission of the fish I'm looking for. I rasstled this 'er Napoleonfish not one night ago. Took a bite out o' me ship it did! However, with enough perseverance, and a few cucumber sandwiches, Ol' Kapp'n won the day.

That is to say, I am now waking up FAR too early! the most distressing bit is that the town is hosting a fishing contest that's purpose is NOT to catalog the various specimen who live in the rivers, brooks, beaches, and islands of fair Shangri-la!
... I do suppose I do wish to enter, however. I do not have a fishing rod of my own, but I do have the one donation that has the whole aquarium to herself. I refer to none other than...
the majestic Carp! These oily fish from the Cyprinidae family of fish are freshwater bottomfeeders, often living off of the algae and plankton that accumulate on the bottom of rivers! The average Carp grows to about 31 centimeters in it's lifespan. this particular specimen was donated to the museum in it's adolecence, and has grown to a whole 33 CM! I can also personally assure you that it has had no garbage or pollutants in it's diet for the past several years of it's life! Please, take it as a token of good will!
I would also like to Vote Pokepal148 and apologise for my crass mistake yesterday of mistaking poor grammar and gamer taunts with journalistic intent. Clearly such grafitti would only be possible from the mind of the sort of vagrant who wears reflective shades in the middle of the night!... in America.

Yep got a bad feeling about this… seems to me some people just want to go around pointin' fingers every-which way all wishy-whashy like… (placeholder vote), or vote everyone, or this old classic (vendetta vote)… yeah, real clever… well that don’t fly. If your tryin’ to say something say something.

Oh! But if there is one fisherman I should be able to trust, it's a Penguin! What fine delicacy have you brought me? Why! This is a red snapper and I'd say it is about 34.10 inches. This is a very good catch! It's not the fish I am looking for but boy is this a tasty treat. I don't care if I am on a diet, I'm not passing this up.*CRUNCH* *CHOMP* *SMACK* *BURP* Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Good job. You may not be the winner but feel free to keep bringing me more these fish.
Oh ho! Octavian has stopped by. And he's brought an.. octopus? That's a weird choice considering who you are. Even worse, this isn't a fish. It is part of the seafood/diving catagory. I can not accept this. Please consult a New Leaf Fishing guide and catch one of the approved fish from it for consideration. Also, think about what you have done in this terrible case of murder.

Well, as a man of deductive reasoning, historical truth, and science, I am inclined to believe that you may have had less that savory reasons for protecting Insanolord yesterday. In the end, he ultimately was a fine and upstanding member of our community, but you seemed very adamant to deflect the lack of enthusiasm towards the world cup away by insisting the man was a suicidal maniac who wears a bomb under his Pele jersey!
Ergo, I believe you were trying to hide a secret you believe Insanolord had, and that secret could have appeared in a cauldron of some sort somewhere in town!

I daresay, Magic Cauldrons have been proven to be irrefutably some of the most accurate tools of divination, even over palms, Crystal Balls, Divining Rods, -AND- Tarot decks! the only reason such Cauldrons are not more proliferate in the field is because of their lack of ease to transport as well as the scarcity of reagents!

I woke up today and I HAVE A BUTLER. WHAT?! Apparently I'm not the mayor anymore either! No, it's some giant winged dragon who is flirting with me all the time and it's really uncomfortable.
The layout of the town is completely bonkers. At least there's still a fishing contest... but these insane text boxes keep popping up telling me I've leveled up after I catch a bunch of fish.

I really just wasn't strong enough with my convictions against insanolord to want to risk being killed in a possible suicide explosion,(literally my only 'reason' to vote against him was to make a joke about karma. (I had meant to drop that vote but as explained later we were close to a tie which meant I would have to do something more drastic)
At the same time if I just dropped my vote I would risk leaving the game at a tie so I had to make a gamble and decided that the vote I could sway with the most ease was lucariofan. Despite the rather simple response he gave when he changed his vote I later got a pm of the following
So I had to explain to him what I was doing and although he was a bit flustered he agreed to change his vote... I'm not surprised he changed it to one against me.
And that's the honest truth.

I woke up today and I HAVE A BUTLER. WHAT?! Apparently I'm not the mayor anymore either! No, it's some giant winged dragon who is flirting with me all the time and it's really uncomfortable.
The layout of the town is completely bonkers. At least there's still a fishing contest... but these insane text boxes keep popping up telling me I've leveled up after I catch a bunch of fish.

That does leave me in a sort of precarious sort of pickle...! I gave away my one and only precious Carp, which was the only draw to our museum's aquarium for naught! These times, they are desperate, though. If the criminal element is eliminated from our fair village, maybe it would be safer to fish and people would finally donate to our museum...!

If a townie dies tonight...that is a wasted hit by the mafia. I don't care if I die. I live in Korea and is hard to play. But if I can help eliminate a mafia member, and perhaps protect a roled member of the game then I am happy.
As for Lolmonade. I will trust my source. I think he is guilty as sin...however this is interesting. If I am wrong and a townie dies, then I know somebody should not be trusted and will make my thoughts known. You can decide to trust me or not then. I hope you do.
However, if I am right, then we have killed 2 mafia and one of those mafia members is the investigator role which is pretty darn valuable to get rid of. And I have a friend I can trust.

I do fish, but my real passion is bottle cap collecting and model trains. I decided to give it an effort though, just because this is such a good idea. I caught a soft-shell turtle. It isn't a fish, but I did my part.
Do you have any idea how plentiful these things are? I can get out of bed and trip over one! I put on my clothes and they fall out of my sleeves. I could fart and there'd be a sea bass in my pants!I am so SICK of the SEA BASS!

Also just to clarify you cut down trees with a net because by doing so you give the town a 'net loss'
you care for your flowers with an axe so that they are in 'axe-cellent' shape
you use a fishing rod to get a bunch of other villagers attention, especially since many of them are fishing right now,
You use a megahorn to catch bugs because bugs have horns,
You use a baloon of your own to get baloon presents, I mean fight fire with fire am I right.
And shovels are used to go diving with, after all you have to 'shove' anything you find to the Museum to Re-Tail

I can still taste that succulent fish meat in my mouth. It helps that some is still caught in the middle of my teeth. I wanted to award Khushrenada the Gold Trophy in person but I'm afraid the paramedics say they need to rush me to the hospital. Something about mercury poisoning. I wasn't really paying attention. I was too upset at how they kept slapping the fish I was trying to eat out of my hands. I can't help it. I'm addicted to fish. Please come visit me in the hospital.
