Can you still do the grenade trick to defeat bosses?

Wow. For once I actually own 5 of the 6 games. Maybe I can actually take part in my first Retroactive. One of my suggestions made the voting too, even though it is losing. Watch the one game I don't own will win.

Well damn. They were my favorite indy publisher too.

Always wanted to play Scarface, I heard it was a fun open world game. The Godfather Black Hand edition was a great game, I keep meaning to go back to it.

TalkBack / Re: North American E3 Sale Now Live
« on: June 15, 2016, 10:12:09 AM »
Really disappointed in this sale. I prefer retail versions of games, so like 90% of this doesn't apply. I don't get why the Wii U version of Link to the Past is on sale, but not the 3DS one. I was hoping for more virtual console games to be put on sale.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Announces E3 Mario Maker Demo Locations
« on: June 04, 2015, 07:02:51 AM »
Of course. One location in my entire bloody state and it is over an hour's drive away from me. The one that I pass by every day (and is in an easy location for people from 3 states to attend) doesn't get the demo. Unless I have the day off, I won't be attending.

Bummer. I have 2 of the 3 games added. Was hopping for Shovel Knight for 3DS. I guess I know what I will be donating to the next NWR Telethon.

TalkBack / Re: Six Amiibo in Search of an Author
« on: May 29, 2015, 08:35:13 PM »
Got screwed out of both Robin and Lucina at Amazon. Got them into my cart then the disappeared. Not in a good mood right now. I am willing to bet the vast majority went to people who used bots and bought multiples.

I wonder if Nintendo realizes the damage they are doing to their own fan base? Between Amiibo and the MM LE debacle I have found myself caring very little about the company any more. I have not even opened my 3DS in over a month.

I am hoping for Pikmin 3 as a reward. I skipped out on it during the Wind Waker offer because I wanted a physical copy. Right after that all the physical copies disappeared. Doh!

I heard about this game at PAX and spent the next 2 days trying to find it on the show floor. I finally managed to towards the end of Sunday. It was worth it. Quite a fun game. The developers were nice too and seemed really interested in feed back. I can't wait for the game to come out.

TalkBack / Re: Searching for Amiibo in America
« on: February 17, 2015, 05:25:29 PM »
I am one of the of the people who has been beyond frustrated with these things. I collected a set of the first run of Skylanders for my son, including getting the Legendary ones (but NOT getting the insanely limited E3 paint job). It took some effort, some hunting and one early morning trip to Toys R Us (insanely early since I misread when they were open).

Getting the Amiibos has been an exercise in frustration. My local Toys R Us got in the newest wave and sold out in 1 minute. 1 freaking minute. Not even enough time to boil an egg. Insane.

For me at least a big part of the problem is the time they launched. Right during the Christmas shopping season. At the time period when I can not even consider buying things for myself. I love Punch Out, I wanted the Little Mac Amiibo. I could not get it when it came out. I was hopping someone would get it for me for Christmas, but no such luck. I did however get 2 Zeldas. Sigh. Now I will probably never get it.

Between this and the nightmare that has been Majora's Mask I am fed up with Nintendo. Majora's Mask is one of my all time favorite games and I am refusing to buy it. Will they care? No. But I feel better.

The latest report I saw said that this was a bad translation. All that has been confirmed is that there will be no voice chat in randomized matches. There is still a chance you can chat with friends.

TalkBack / Re: Final Club Nintendo Rewards Revealed
« on: February 02, 2015, 02:56:26 PM »
I like some of the rewards, although they are not as good as I was hoping. I am kicking myself for not ordering that Luigi statue when I had the chance. Silly me thought it was the start of a trend and decided to hold off for a game I liked more. I was hoping for a Zelda statue.

Thinking about ordering the messenger bag and Smash 2 poster set. Then a couple of games. I want Wonderful 101 but prefer disc games to digital. I might wait on the game until I see what the Platnium reward is. I would hate to waste coins on something they will give me for "free" later on.

TalkBack / Re: Club Nintendo to Be Discontinued
« on: January 20, 2015, 09:13:43 PM »
So now I feel like a bloody idiot for skipping the Luigi's Mansion statue. I had never played the game and foolishly thought it signaled the start of a new trend. Now I have a couple thousand points and absolutely nothing to spend them on. Guess I will get another poster tube to add to the collection in the closet.

TalkBack / Re: Duck Hunt Coming to Wii U Virtual Console on Christmas Day
« on: December 19, 2014, 11:58:32 AM »
Brings back memories of receiving my NES on Christmas morning way too many years ago. Finally getting it hooked up (in my bedroom no less) playing Mario until I got frustrated then switching over to Duck Hunt and playing the crap out of it. Good times. I may need to download this.

I find it odd that the WWE Network is not available on Nintendo platforms. WWE has been pushing The Network HARD. It is on every possible device except Nintendo.

They look cool, I will probably end up ordering them. I do wish it was for some of the other characters though, I am not a big fan of any of these guys. It would have been awesome if they had done them so they formed one big picture when placed next to each other.

TalkBack / Re: Renegade Kid Founder Details Status on Projects
« on: August 04, 2014, 06:59:22 AM »
Is it just me or does Renegade Kid have trouble with finishing projects? They announce something cool, show a demo of it, get people excited, then when they get into the crunch they seem to give up and the projects become vaporware. I love their stuff, but maybe they should just finish Treasurenauts and Mutant Mudds 2 before moving onto any thing else.

I am pretty upset about the rewards. There are pretty much 0 games I am interested in at all. Even the few that are I would rather just outright buy then waste a reward on. I was hoping for something like that Luigi statue. I am a collector and I enjoy having exclusive "crap" decorating my house. I have even gone out my way to purchase previous prizes I have missed in the past. Now I am not sure if I will even bother to enter the codes I have been saving for next year. The fact that I hate digital games and prefer physical when I can does not help at all.

Splatoon. Something I have been hoping Nintendo would make for years, yet never thought they actually would. Really wish it was coming out this year. Looks like a blast to play.

TalkBack / Re: Mario Kart 8 Hands-on Preview
« on: May 03, 2014, 06:58:43 AM »
I have only one real question with this game. Does it completely and illogically screw you over at the higher difficulties like MKWii did? I got so frustrated by that game that I walked away from it. I would have a huge lead then get hit with 2 blue, 2 red and a lightning bolt feet from the finish line and end up fourth. Did they fix that in 8?

I wonder if 10 years from now this will be considered a rare label variation with a high value.

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 117: That's Your Gateway Drug
« on: January 24, 2014, 11:23:54 PM »
I honestly believe that years down the road, the main thing the Wii will be remembered for is the Virtual Console. It was the first time any company had released their (and others) catalogs to this scale. I think Nintendo really realized what their past was worth. It may not have gone as smoothly as we would have liked, or had everything we dreamed about it, but it is one of the defining characteristics of the system.
