Fire Emblem continues to Ragnarok up the charts.

Following a massive opening weekend, the only remaining sales question for Fire Emblem Fates in the US was how far up the charts it would land - and the NPDs have it in a medal position.

The February 19 release sold 315,000 physical units in its first nine days of sale, which covers both Birthright, Conquest and the limited edition. Both Birthright and Conquest were in the top 10 single line items sold during the month, with Birthright even landing in 9th position in the NPD's combined formats chart. Nintendo later clarified the game as near 400,000 units sold (including digital purchases of the $40 game).

February 2016 was expected to be down heavily year over year for the 3DS, as 2015 saw the US debut of the New 3DS - however, the damage was limited to a 58% reduction, which would estimate 3DS family sales at 166k for the month. Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow have also broken the 3DS eShop's first week sales record previously held by Super Smash Bros, according to Nintendo.

Wii U system sales have been estimated at approximately 70k in February, with Lego Marvel's Avengers retaining its spot in the charts from January checking in at #6 in the combined formats chart. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Pokkén Tournament and the Nintendo Selects line should contribute to better March sales, as well as the Easter holiday.

Nice to see Fire Emblem: Fates get in there. Whatever will be thought of Fates later, it's nice to see the Fire Emblem series get more chances.
