it is obviously coming sometime this year...most likely during the summer.  I read that they are changing the formula so people picking it up for the first time can challenge those that played the n64 version.  The graphics are sweet in the preview shots from last year, so hopefully they are even better now

You can bet on that. Nintendo said they're giving both Mario Tennis and Golf a special makeover that will make
gamer's eyes jump out their eyeballs.

Really? So what, the game will come with a pack-in fork controller, that'll be controlled by the CPU (Think R.O.B on NES) and it'll actually make your eyeballs pop out of your head by stabbing you when you lose a match? Crap, I gotta pre-order this baby! =D

Super Monkey Ball 2 does a pretty good job at capturing the gameplay of Mario Tennis and Golf in the party games, without all the wacky gimmics of course.  I recommend SMB2 over buying Mario Tennis for N64 until Mario Tennis is released on the cube.

Honestly, what's the big deal about Mario Tennis?  The N64 game was pretty good, just go play that.  What more could the possibly do with it? It's TENNIS!

It's tennis turned from
boooring ------> insane multiplayer!
I hate tennis. I hate most sports. I'd rather do something than watch others do something. But Mario Tennis was awesome multiplayer goodness. Of course i was playing myself..

I don't doubt that Mario Tennis is a pretty good game.  But what's the point in a GameCube version?  There's only so much you can do with tennis.  I could see a reason for a new Mario Golf, though.

I hope they add RPG elements to the Gamecube version, because Mario Tennis on Gameboy kicked ass!

I've been wondering what the deal is with Mario Tennis. I want this game so badly it hurts. I want Golf also, but Tennis just tops my list at the moment. WHERE ARE YOU!

Is there any logic in this?  Is this because the holes can be designed differently?  But then again, the courts can be different.
You might be able to find a copy of Mario Tennis for the 64 at Game Trader if there is one in your city.  Or perhaps at Wal-Mart, I heard they try to stock all the "Mario" games for the 64, but I don't know.

Yeah, Mario Golf 2 can have totally different courses.  There's very little you can do to change the basic tennis formula, though.  Yeah, you can have different stages, but it's very limited.  You can have some special stuff like the Bowser stage, but if it's anything like the original (or for that matter, anything like tennis) it's going to be mainly focused on a normal court.

It would be cool if they release mario tennis and golf on the same disk, and mabey even mario kart. I really want them but I dont want to shove out $100 for both.

If I could only get one I would get tennis.
Mario Tennis = Tennis(the best sport) + more fun = really really really fun
Mario Golf = Gold(tremendously boring sport) + lots more fun = really fun
