Nintendo Gaming / RE: A question about Picto-Chat
« on: August 03, 2004, 08:19:35 PM »
Pictochat being built into the DS would be cool, though I don't necessarily know that the "chat functionality" feature on the DS means built in Pictochat.

From what I saw at E3, Pictochat seemed to just be used with the Wireless LAN for private text messaging between people, but if it comes as a built in feature with the DS, I'm not too upset.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Animal Crossing DS - multiplayer confirmed
« on: August 03, 2004, 07:57:12 PM »
Ever since I saw those screenshots, I've assumed it is just connection between two DS systems with two seperate Animal Crossing DS saves going on there, with one of the players visting the others town through the DS' wireless LAN. What I hope is that there will also be Wi-Fi usage with ACDS, where you can connect to an ACDS server with chat rooms, message boards, downloadable content, and a place where two (or more) people can connect to another player's town and trade stuff, etc.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Online Adapter?
« on: August 03, 2004, 07:30:19 PM »
I'm just as inept with technology as dedede, but I gather that the only way I can use the DS' Wi-Fi connectivity is by using a hotspot, since I do not have Cable/DSL, and there is no way I can play the DS, or any other system for that matter, online using dial-up, right?

By the way, the tables seem to be broken in this topic, at least for me. It appears to me that Striker broke them since on my page his post borders are wider than anyone else's, though I may be wrong...

So, is August any sort of special avatar month, like last month being zombie month? Also, what's with this big name changing fad going on? Is there a new feature allowing you to be able to change your username, or is king admin changing people's names?

I couldn't register, I was gone last week Sunday-Friday without computer access... I gave my mom the registration info, but when she visited the site on wednesday, she said there was a message saying registration was postponed due to technical difficulties... when I got back Friday the message was still there, then later when I visited, the site said registration was closed... When did everyone here register??

By the way, whats with the "logout" feature when you open king admin's profile?

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo DS Revealed
« on: August 01, 2004, 07:22:57 AM »
I want a metallic blue DS! Kind of like the Cobalt GBA SP, except less purply looking. Maybe a silvery blue color?

Anyway, the new look is definitely sleeker than the blocky look the E3 prototype had, but I really didn't mind the old look. The curvy design of it makes it look less sturdy to me, though, but the black buttons give it kind of a cooler look than the white buttons the first design had. As for a control stick, I would have liked it, maybe along side a d-pad, though there probably wasn't room for that. By the way, does anyone know if thats a place to hold the stylus or a headphone jack next to the GBA cartridge slot on the bottom of the DS?

I do believe that's a J-pop song by the name of Dynamite, which you may also know from Donkey Konga 2 or Drummania 3rd

Are you talking about the new king admin theme or the old one?

I like the style of this new one, but it's a little short. I think the next theme should have more of a techno style...

The quote was twice the price, not half.(though I don't see why they said that, since the GBA SP cost the same as the GBA did when it came out, and the GBA SP wasn't twice the price of the GBA at the time of the GBA SP's release...)

I read the whole article, and I didn't think they were being all that biased to the PSP, since they did say the PSP might break easily, and that it was pricey...

I'm a newb, too, and I also need help with this... when I copy a picture from a site and paste it, it usually has this white square around it that I don't know how to get rid of except for perfectly cutting the picture out of the square, which I can't do... I use paint for photoshopping by the way, since I have nothing else...

By the way, where is everyone finding these pictures to put in the photo? I'm having a tough time searching for stuff to put in the image...

I once asked that question in the Newbie Check-in topic...

You could go here, or you could just break one of the forum rules and have a title slapped onto you a mod...

I see. Oh, and by the way, I know where I heard the Mario Golf GBC music. The same music was also in Animal Crossing, as K.K. Ballad. Anybody who owns AC and heard the Mario Golf music, check it out...

I don't really mind, since it was the first Radio Trivia I actually played through...

Seriously, it was freaky that I got those three games and that I only knew them because my older bro had them for the NES when I was a little kid... I'm thinking I ought to play Radio Trivia more often though.

So, Zoidberg's hosting Planet Trivia next week? Does he even have any trivia hosting experience?

The song can be annoying if you don't want music blasting or have to mute the sound, but I think it's pretty cool, especially with two king admin posts on one page...

I'm not really bothered by the scrolling sig pic, although it is pretty flashy...

What could he do next to make his posts even more unique and eccentric?

Man, it was hilarious the first time I heard this song playing out of sync with itself in this topic:
http://www.planetgamecube.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=18&threadid=9606

One of the songs starts playing about 1 second after the other one starts, its kind of funky...

King admin doesn't seem to be Ty or anybody else who works for the site to me... he just started posting June 26...

I wonder what feature king admin has in store next?

That seriously doesn't make any sense, because according to the site, all the games listed on the site won't be released until three months after the system comes out, the DS is scheduled to be released 18 days after everyone is saying it will be released, and the games are priced at $49.99 when people have been saying they will be cheaper to produce than GBA games...

I too own an Xbox along with a Gamecube, but I don't have Xbox Live, and I recently bought Project Gotham Racing 2. I was just wondering, does Xbox Live require a broadband connection in order to play online enabled games, or does it come with everything you need out of the box? Also, does anyone know if PGR2 is a good game to play using Xbox Live?

Anyway, I think some games on Gamecube should have had online support, but I hope Nintendo will make good use of the Wi-Fi built into the DS, and put internet support into the Revolution...

Now you need to clean up the "Developers pass on the DS because its the DS topic", since CasualGamer flamed up the joint in there too...
