Star Fox (Switch 2)
Evan_B:
Is the inevitable sequel that this game gets going to be called Star Fox 2?
I’m here to lend emotional support to all you folks who will be going in on this release. I don’t care a lick about Star Fox and there’s very little about this version that appeals to me other than the bizarre face-mapping for voice chat, but it would be particularly venomous for me to be down on a series as underrepresented as Star Fox. To echo some of the sentiments already stated here, the rail shooter nature of the series has never appealed to me and while I respect something with an arcade flair offering multiple routes, if won’t do much for me if said routes are more of the same gameplay that doesn’t thrill me. Here’s hoping you do get that Star Fox 2 after all.

I was put off initially because of some of the irregularities in the designs. Mainly the legs/feet. But everything else looks pretty good and its all warmed up on me. And since the characters are mostly flying around the leg issue seems less urgent.
I am hoping we get Landmaster and Foot combat in multiplayer like in the original.
I'm also hoping we get a remake of SF2 and/or Assault in this engine. Hell, give us an updated Dinosaur Planet as well!

Another remake would be fine, but I'm hoping this is a situation like Metroid: Samus Returns, where the remake is a springboard for the same developer to then make a new game in the series.

That’s exactly what it feels like. Samus Returns remake and then straight to Dread. Not to mention that same tactic worked out well with Grizo and Links Awakening to Echoes of Wisdom. Nintendo may have found a great formula for franchises that their top teams don’t handle any longer.
I’ve been pretty hooked on multilayer so far. I wish with randoms the ships were faster and had more health but it’s a good time. I know you can adjust these things in private matches. It should work like Mario Kart where it could go from 150-200cc at any time. I hope they expand on it as it’s pretty fun. There is just so much on screen, I don’t fully understand what’s happening yet. Not to mention it’s so hard to get away from enemy fire. I thought my OG skills would let me dominate but the arenas are so big it’s hard to hide.

I think I'm still in the mode of "I'll take anything from this nearly dead franchise getting a second chance".
I think in an ideal world we get Assault on Switch Online and either a new game or a remake of SF2.
Anything more will make me happy. Now to pine for a new F-Zero...
