I basically signed up for the lols and the cash prize

Gonna make a bingo card for these:
- Arbitrary character bans
- children showing up
- rule changes partway through the tournament
- the worst person winning a match
- battery runs out in middle of match

etc

I recently tried out Nunchuk controls in brawl and it's the most underrated set up ever and I think that everybody forgot that Brawl allows you to fully customize controls to your liking.

Z = shield
C = throw
A = normal attack
B = special attack
Dpad Down = Jump
Everything Else = TAWNT

Does everything the Cube controller does, more comfortably, and eliminates the C-stick.  A REAL WINNER.

Remote & Nunchuk is the only way I ever play Brawl, I don't think I could go back to the Wavebird.

You know, I may have to sit down and play with the nunchuck and see how far I can go with it...

After playing a year of Brawl with the Nunchuck, playing Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of Fist was immediately 2nd nature (cuz it's practically the same button layout I use for Smash Blubbers).

WiiChuk controls in RPGs is unbelievably comfy.

I may have to finally try this.

I just cannot get used to using my index fingers for anything other than shield.... be that jumping or special attacks.  My hands just don't work that way I guess.

I tried it today.  It was weird.  I kept having trouble with aerial attacks and recovering.  For some reason, I just can't get used to where the jump is mapped to.  On the plus side, I'm much better at dodging.

In Melee, my thumb was on Y + A for jump/attack readiness.  This Y+A pair carried over into my Metroid Prime play, when Beam Shots and Missiles were used alternately.

Carrying that over in Brawl, I mapped Jump to Dpad-Down to recreate that Y+A pair.

I considered doing that.  It seemed like the natural adjustment to make, but I wanted to try out the defaults.  I tried getting used to using tap jump, but it made downward aerial attacks a more difficult to time.  I think I'll make the switch.

I used to play like that, but didnt like not having my thumb ready for B, so i started playing with my thumb between B and A, and my index fingered curved over Y. That didnt last long, cuz i liked Z for quick grabs over L+A so instead i got used to covering B A & Y all under my thumb and having them all at the ready. I'm not the best brawler in the world, so its not like its a master technique you should all go out and try.

Oh and i used the same fingering as you for MP.

Ahahah, I just tried playing on the nunchuck, it's so bad. And not like the power glove!

Unless you can quick map smashes to the dpad or something, it is functionally worthless, and anybody that prefers it over a controller is a stupid child. Oh hey:

Does everything the Cube controller does
you can't guarantee running up-smashes or getting smashes out on the first frame and I'm pretty sure you can't do snake's mortar slide

Quick smashes?  what kind of awful idea is that.  sounds like that juvenile last-gen c-stick stuff.  Back in Melee, Nintendo knew what was righteous and banned C-sticking from single player mode, including Event Matches.

I never got that, that was the weirdest, most arbitrary thing

I swear every discussion about Smash post brawl devolves into one of 3 things:

A) Brawl sucks

B) Brawl doesn't suck

or

C) c-stick.

PROVE ME WRONG.
