TalkBack / Re: Mothmen 1966 (Switch) Review
« on: July 22, 2022, 11:01:12 PM »
Thanks for this review. This game was on my wishlist simply because I live in WV, less than 30 minutes away from Point Pleasant. I was hoping the game leaned hard into the Mothman lore but it’s obvious that’s not the case. I can remove it from the wishlist.

I’ve come to like Justin based on podcasts I’ve heard him participate in. I’ve also heard him talk about BotW. I’ll never understand why he would force himself to find all 900 Koroks, especially considering he wasn’t enjoying it to begin with. I like the game, but if I spent 400 hours forcing myself to find items I didn’t care about, I’d probably like the game less too.

Do you have enough experience with past Story of Seasons games to be able to compare? Any new crops or animals? Is there any reason to get this if you’ve played the 3DS games? I’m asking strictly from a Story of Seasons perspective, the tied in anime means little to me.

Probably should have mentioned this is a $200 product in the review...

What is the price? When I googled the name what I found was $180. Too much for me, if that’s what these are.

With this being $40 for the rest of us, what kind of play time did you get out of it? 10 hours? 20 hours? Did you play to the end?

Nice! Sounds right up my alley. I had never even heard of this game. Added it to my wishlist.

I still play nearly everyday but I don’t play the gyms. Sure, I’ll drop a Pokémon in if I’m walking by and there is a slot open just so I can earn coins. But I find constantly tapping your screen to battle is boring. Unfortunately this means there are Pokémon I’ll never catch because you can only win them from gyms. I’d like to see them all catchable in the wild, even if some are extremely rare. At least then there would be a chance.

TalkBack / Re: Batman: The Telltale Series (Switch) Review

Nice review. I also listened to you talk about the game on the podcast. Having played several Telltale games on PS4, this sounds exactly them. I’ve never had an issue with the save system. Anytime the save icon would display during an episode, it always loaded back at that point if I took a break. The glitch you experienced twice after dying in which you couldn’t see the screen to load would have gutted me. Kind of surprised you scored it as high as you did after that experience! I’ll eventually get this, not because I like Batman but because I love the Telltale games.

I really wish the game was good so I would feel justified buying it. But I just can't reward the developer $30 for this. Guess I'll hope somebody else makes a good baseball game or wait for this to hit $10-15. But I doubt many copies were made knowing it would probably not sell well on Switch.

So here's a thought. What if NWR had this exclusive feature they had spent months working on. They knew it was good and would generate lots of traffic to the site. There was a planned countdown on the site to tease it. Two weeks before it's due to go live, and the day before the countown promo is to begin,  someone leaked the main contents to one of the usual voices on Twitter, Liam, Laura, Emily, take your pick. They naturally tweet everthing about it. NWR no longer has an exclusive and nothing to tease. Wouldn't that suck?

I've never understood why more review sites don't use the letter grade system instead of the number system. Everyone knows a C is average and a B is above average. None of this 7 is average stuff that doesn't make sense.

And the Youtubers that will say anything to get more views, don't even get me started. What's really scary is all the 10-14 year olds that follow them religiously.

Oh, I see what you mean, buying the DLC packs separate.

Anyway, easy solution to all those that are going to complain, don't buy it. If it upsets you that much boycott the entire Zelda game. Moving on...

Wont be sold separately? I wont be buying it then. Maybe I will change my mind af the end of the year when the second pack is out and people say the new quest is good.
Why would you ever want to buy this but not the main game?

Nintendo Gaming / Re: 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors

I've been playing it recently. Not sure it's as great as everything I've read but I'm still enjoying it. I think I'm on my 4th play through right now. The first time I get an ending I've already seen I'll be playing with a FAQ, which I'm not a fan of, but I imagine you have to make exactly the right choices to see the best ending. And the person above me who advised to write down the answers to all the puzzles, brilliant advice. It's very frustrating knowing you've completed a puzzle twice before and yet still getting stuck on it. And some of the sexual content, are you kidding me? This game definitely earns its M rating, lol.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Donkey Kong Country Wii
« on: February 12, 2011, 08:48:11 PM »
I really enjoyed this game and would put it just below Super Mario Galaxy 2. It was hard but not impossible hard. I constantly had 999 coins which meant I could have 99 lives whenever I wanted. And yeah, there were a couple levels I probably died 30-40 times before completing. After beating the game I went back to each level to find all the KONG letters and puzzle pieces. Around world 4, I came across some levels I just couldn't find all the puzzle pieces, even after playing through the level 4 or 5 times looking in holes and everyplace else I could think of. I hate using FAQS so I ended up abandoning the quest for all the puzzle pieces and just focused on the KONG letters. I finally got them all, and completed the levels you get for completing them, along with the level you get for completing those as well. I ended up with 100%, but again, I was probably missing 10% of the puzzle pieces. My favorite levels were the roller coaster and rocket stages, probably the levels most people hated. I didn't even try the speed runs because I hate doing that. This surpassed DKC 1, 2, and 3 for me.

Oh yeah, I used wii remote on it's side the first couple worlds, then tried the remote with nunchuck. After that I never went back to the remote on it's side. I didn't like having to shake the remote to roll and using the nunchuck meant I only had to shake one hand, much easier when playing while laying on your side, which I usually did.
