TalkBack / Re: Nintendo And Canada: A Match Made In Heaven
« on: July 01, 2015, 04:19:34 PM »
The article is really great. The only issue that i want to talk is the 30% sales on digital releases. I suppose canada have the digital sales powered up by the entire south america.Nintendo just have WiiU Eshop, on Usa, Canada and Mexico. In my country (brazil), all of people who wants to buy digital or a DLC on wiiU, creates an account on canada. Because it's the only way. We can't buy on USA, because of some rigid bank laws.Even with 3ds, that nintendo still have a Brazilian Eshop. It's better log on canada, because than you'll have the opportunity to buy in better prices.I can't talk about argentina, chile, uruguay and the others, but i suppose they live with the same problems. Because even when nintendo was still on brazil, ou eshop sucks...Piracy on wiiU doesn't exist. On 3DS it's a very small %. The main problem is the exchange rate on south america. So you make money on canada.

I don't think this is a smart move..... at least for, "b-tier" games.

Ex: fantasy life (and crappy sales on october 2014), and fire emblem awakening (good sales on february 2013).

"Small games need their spotlight".

There is other reasons like:

Only looking for 2015 Schedule.

Money: if i am pretending to buy, Star Fox Zero, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Wooly World, Zelda Triforce Heroes. I can't afford thinking about buying games like Mario Tennis Ultra Smash and Chibi-Robo Zip Lash.

Time: Even if i am a rich person, buying all those games. I will probably skip Xenoblade Chronicles X (on december, because i will still playing other games. and doesn't make sense buying a Giant JRPG when you have other games to play)

WiiU and 3DS isn't a blue ocean case.
The main audience for both systems are "hardcore players". And they play games, all the time. A game like mario tennis ultra smash, maybe have a chance for these nintendo fans who doesn't have games to play on june and july. Despite that games looks a bad port for the 3ds version. Mario tennis is still fun.

TalkBack / Re: Frustrations Of A New Fire Emblem Fan

I think you are overreacting. Because it's clearly, that the franchise is looking to please more new fans than the older ones.

Despite awakening is a solid game, It's my personal worst. Because the game always feel like a different genre. I love fire emblem because of strategy, and that game looks like a classic RPG, with a little of strategy.

If you want to beat on lunatic+ (just rely on frederick, until chapter 4,) and after the outrealm gates open, grind and grind and grind (boring....)

And for that reason, I'm excited about the 2 versions + 1 dlc. If you buy all dlcs on awakening will cost more than $50 bucks. So i prefer, more stories than, a beach map with tharja and friends.

And you'll probably don't go that far. You will play the hoshido campaingn and you will be satisfied. Or if you like, and want to play nohr + dlc: you will see that (amiibo of lucina, ike, robin and marth) are useless (or just a costume)... because they will lack of bonus support, and no conversations.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not that kind of people who thinks i'm better because i like to play with perma death + higher difficulty. But, i think the way i like to play, i have to be more concerned than you.

PS: i heard the noir campaign will not have backtracking (if this happen i'm glad, because i hate how you can level up so much on paralogues, street pass team, spot pass team and the outrealm gate).

I think exactly the same way as scott about amiibo.

I can't be indifferent as the radio free nintendo crew.
My head tells, these are a pieces of plastics.
And my heart tells to buy the amiibos that i love.

I love fire emblem and pikmin series. So far so good, i have marth and ike.
I like punch-out, wii fit, duck hunt, and xenoblade. i have wii fit trainer.
The others, i really don't care. Just toad, because of captain toad.

I can't pre-order, because i live in brazil.
By the way, if you guys want to know, where scalpers are selling north america amiibos in south america, the place is Ciudad del Este (paraguay).

The 3DS version of SMT DS Overclocked is much better than the original, at least for me.

The addition of voice acting, extra epilogue (8th day) and an achievement system. Made me put 300 hours to beat 100% of this game.

I hope gui not abandon this game, because it´s my favorite 3ds game (along with fe awakening). And i can't wait to play SMT DS 2 Record Breaker (May, 5).

How is Advance Wars not on here!?!
Oh yea that's right Nintendo never made one of the 3DS. Dang you Intelligent Systems! 2 Fire Emblem games (don't get me wrong I loved Awakening) and no Advance Wars!
All I can say is Codename:S.T.E.A.M. better be REALLY good to make up for it!

I feel the same way.... I really wish an advance wars 3ds.

but, after the demo, i'm totally sold about Codename STEAM.

2 fire emblem, codename and even pushmo/crashmo is not a problem. advance wars 3ds is probably better than sticker star (not talking about sales).

i like the format of the show.

just talk about the 2 big releases on eshop. it's going to be boring, because i presume, the people who watches the show already knows about that.

That was you, huh? that was the most interesting part of that episode. I knew that there was issues with the tax terrif, but... I'm honestly sorry that you can't get that stuff around home any more. still, at least you have that canadian e-shop account to fall back upon!

in the past, the excuses for not invest in brazil was piracy. i'm okay with that. because ps2, xbox 360, ds and wii was so popular because of that. today, there is no piracy on wiiU and just a very few% on 3ds.

with this current generation, i was excited. reggie came here in in late 2011, and it was a surprise event. we just know that we are going to play mario 3d land weeks before the launch. then he appeared, and promises that brazilian's market going to be priority for nintendo and bla bla bla.

they blame high import tarrifs, but i don't buy it. because the reality is brazil always have those issues. why the posture changes?

the reason that i believed, it's because they are losing money. i don't know how exactly to say that but i'll try.

brazil are facing some economics problems, and with that, the dollar apreciation in front of reais (our currency) meets high level in the last 9 years.

a 3ds full retail game from oficial retailers are priced R$ 150,00. with dolar hitting 2,7 they made only $55,00 dollar.

it's very low compared to 2,1. $71,00 profit when reggie said that nintendo going to invest in brazil.
