Title: Fire Emblem! All day, every day! Now on your mobile phone!
Post by: Soren on January 13, 2017, 12:53:42 PM

It's Fire Emblem....and it's a Musou game. That's all we know right now but I am hyped.

Also, there will be a Fire Emblem Direct on Wednesday January 18 at 2pm PT. They will apparently be talking about this game, Fire Emblem Fates DLC and the Fire Emblem Mobile game.

I understand why people want this, and it is a more logical choice than Zelda, for sure. But this appeals to me very little. The potential of Wyverns/Pegasus Knights/Beast-men is pretty appealing, but the amount of Awakening/Fates representatives is likely going to be depressing.

Only disappointment I have is the lack of Fates DLC info, but they more than made up for it with the other announcements.

Excited to play Gaiden, and more Fire Emblem amiibo are always nice.

Remember when Metroid was a more recognizable franchise than Fire Emblem?

Me too.

I forgot about this Nintendo Direct.

I watched the Fire Emblem Warriors trailer. It's a musou game. Lucina isn't in the trailer or art. I'm less interested in this game. I'm sure she'll show up eventually.

The Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valencia logo is weird and confusing. It looks like Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valencia Echoes and uses three different fonts. Who designed that nightmare?

Yeah, it sucked.

Some people on reddit are hoping this is going to be a series of remakes for the older games under the banner name of "FE Echoes".

I like that they are working to keep all of the old mechanics, but rework them to be more streamlined. There look to be some 3rd-person action oriented segments where you run around the map and fight monsters without a turn meter.

With all of the new announcements, I am wondering if this shouldn't just be the generic thread for Fire Emblem titles. Or do we want have multiple threads?

That would be awesome! It would be a nice way for the earlier games in the series to come to the West, while also making sense financially for Nintendo.

I downloaded it but it won't install for some reason. Having difficulty deleting it too. I'll get it sorted and post my ID. In other Fire Emblem news, has anyone here ever bought one of those fan-translation SNES carts? I've been looking at them on etsy. They're a bit pricey but they look super cool and it would be a great way to play some of the games that were never localised outside of Japan.

I've done 4 summon sessions now and have yet to get a single 5 star hero. This game can go get fucked.

I'm not a fan of gapcha mechanics. My two sessions of cracking orbs left me wanting to purchase more since I was dissatisfied with my pulls, so I stopped using it. The spectacular visuals are hopefully a glimpse of things to come with future handhelds.

I've got two five star Seliphs. I'd give you one if I could. Also got a five star Ephraim, but I'd swap 'em all for a Roy or a Robin.

I'm not familiar with that term but I think I know what you mean. I've never had any interest in playing a game like this and have often judged those who do. I only gave this game a fair go because it's a Nintendo game and now I've probably sunk more time into it than any other FE game.

The only game worth playing on your phone is Twitter.

I just took a peak at some places on the internet where the people are WAAYYY into the endgame and GOOD GRIEF! If it's true that they'll start letting you switch skills around then this game just got waaaay too complicated for me! I've already accepted that in no way can I invest the time and money to create a top tier PvP team in this, but now people are talking about IV values for characters, creating perfect teams, and merging FIVE STARS INTO FIVE STARS!?!?!?

I think I'll just take my daily log-in bonuses and paltry 15 feathers a day and be happy if I ever put together a seven-win streak in the Arena on all easy.

That said... between Fire Emblem Heroes and Miitomo and Pokemon Go, I can't believe it but Nintendo has got me to break my limit of only ever playing two mobile games at a time @_@

It may have some of those extreme feature, but it is just like Pokemon in that you can play and enjoy the game as a normal gamer/casual and have a blast. I reset my account about 20 times to get some good characters and ended up with Roy and Peri, and through additional casual play I've also gotten the following 5*: 2 Camilla, another Roy, Takumi, and Cordelia.

Also got some nice 4* like Raven and Oboro which I might move up to 5* down the road if I don't draw some more 5*s. I already have over 20k feathers through all of the extra promos and achievement awards. Will save them for a rainy day.

Only character I really want that I do not have are Ephraim and Hector.
