Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 315: Nintendo Launch Alliance
« on: November 25, 2012, 12:45:30 PM »
Just listened to the part about wii to wii u transfer, I'm glad I didn't end up doing it, I plan on keeping the other console handy for my wii stuff, gamecube controllers are a big part of how I play with friends. I wish I could choose what parts of the data move over so I don't have to download all the games stored on my SD.

Amazing! I am instantly reminded of my game boy pocket that I had way back when that was similar.

People should get over the absence of a second circle pad. "Oh but I want to play COD just the same as I would on a console" Maybe if they keep ignoring it, developers will make better single pad games like Kid Icarus; maybe that's what a COD needs to make new fans. It's not like the circle pad pro doesn't already exist and everyone from Nintendo to developers clearly don't care.

Why compel me to buy new retail 3DS games in the fall when you can remind me why I'm not buying a Wii U at launch and then not announce anything new for the 3DS I already own and was really excited about. I would love to spend more money on good 3DS games

TalkBack / Re: Mario Tennis Open Review
« on: May 21, 2012, 09:25:43 PM »
I've played about six hours now and I've played eleven matches online and won them all. I experienced minimal lag in less than half the matches and I totally agree with the notion that the online should be way better than the options they give you, but I'm enjoying the mode more than I thought I would. If you have enough friends you can play doubles online though. The fact you only get coins in the special games is my biggest gripe, I understand tournaments unlock the items but you should be able to build your coins while making that progress, I'm going to be done with the game well before I'll be able to unlock the mii gear. Otherwise I'm having a really fun Mario tennis binge that isn't crashing just yet.

TalkBack / Re: Staff Sez #5: The Best Nintendo Present Ever!
« on: December 25, 2011, 01:53:25 AM »
It's a choice for me between getting my N64 DK64 bundle in 1999 and getting my gamecube with the zelda collector's edition and smash bros in 2003. I had never played through Ocarina or Majora's Mask on N64, so I would say the gamecube is the best present ever for me. I had gone two years playing melee and other games at a friends house and was so envious until I finally got the system.

Is voice chat something feasible for this game? Bundled headsets would make sense going with Nintendo's peripheral releasing tendencies, but this would actually be useful going forward to the wii u

This is a bummer for me because I love IX and I want a good single player wii RPG. Online means nothing to me I want a story that I can immerse myself in on my own.

Just listening to the podcast, I second a Majora's Mask RetroActive, I think it would be easier for people who are intrigued by the game to get into it without getting confused and quitting. It took a long time for me to play, but I'm so glad I played it.

I wasn't back in town to be on the call-in show I but can more than appreciate the super podcast. Have listened every episode for years. Here's to hopefully talking about Episode 500 in five years when you will be discussing what I think Nintendo's final step to Wii brand will be:

Wii U and I (that should at least be their online service name)

That's a good idea. I want to see you guys actually have another episode like 103. That WAS and still IS the best podcast I have ever listened to.

That really was traumatic to record.
I'm guessing the editing process was just as traumatic?

After further playtime I have to wonder why this wasn't a 200 point title. Half of the micro games don't work right away and aren't even fun.

I bought it but after playing I wish I hadn't bought it. At least I still have WarioWare: Touched.

Just got my DSi today. I like the way the buttons feel and how the control pad clicks but I'm still getting used to the power button move and the shoulder buttons that stick out a little bit. I think the pictures it can take look pretty good.

This is the first DQ game for me and I'm impressed so far. The music is wonderful. I'm not very far in but if I like the rest of the game I'll probably buy IX when it comes out.
