The game sold moderately well from what I recall. Here's hoping we do get one soon. Imagine the 3D attack pins we could see with 3DS.

You just made my head explode. 3D TWEWY, oh my God. Titled "The World Ends With Us" because he has friends now. Whoa. Game of the year. Bam.

I had tried this game before, but the craziness of the two screen battle thing turned me off. I've just ended up setting it to auto play from the beginning, has anyone else done this? I'm afraid this might come back and bite me in the butt. I really wish that you could chain battles earlier, especially after I learned you could, died, and then had to go through the whole "grind until you get certain pins" again. I hate also how you had to talk to someone before you could polish Hachiko, I found myself just tapping the hell out of the screen thinking my original DS touchscreen had finally broken after years of Elite Beat Agents.
I thought that the game was going to be incredibly short until I saw your posts about week 2 and 3. Also, I really hate every last bit of audio in this game, I just can't get used to the voice acting during battles, the general soundtrack, and the  weird laughs of the characters that just pop up sometimes into the endless talking.
But despite my gripes with the game, it is a lot of fun. I really like the mechanic of leveling up while you don't play it. It made me think about the  discussion about how games are easier to play when you come back. I gotta play some more though, I just finished Day 4 Week 1.

Did anyone else notice a person when scanning whose thought bubble says "Oendon!" and then goes on to talk about how their school needs some sweet cheer leading outfits? I got a kick out of that.

(Finished the game today, spoilers below include the ending.)

I have to admit, Neku wasn't the only one screaming "WHAT THE HELL???" at the top of his lungs today, and not just because I thought the Lions beats the Patriots. I can't recall off hand any other game that had you working for the antagonists for so long - or one that stuck you with him for a good third of the game.

I did manage to finish the game with the CPU on auto-play, though I will admit to cursing Beat's apparent inability to get Fusion stars in a decent length of time even after I stuck him with an accessory that gives +2 Fusion to start. Apparently the AI is as dumb or thick as Beat is.

What irks me the most about the endgame is that two of the final bosses end up becoming puzzle bosses - one of which relies on Beat, the other by necessity is a forced bottom-screen win. And now they've given me the ability to go up to Ultimate difficulty - yeah, not going to be doing that for a while.

I may go for the Secret Reports but that will probably start tomorrow. Right now I have to control my emo urges...

Questions:

1) Is anyone here playing the game without autoplay for the top screen? If so, when did you switch?
2) Why do I have to beat the Pig noise AGAIN in the postgame when I did most of them the first time?

I actually found the battle system really intuitive, and I never had a problem with it. Maybe it's a young 'un thing? I'm 19, and I loved this game, if my constant evangelism hasn't made that apparent. I loved that my accessory characters were actually integral to my battle plan. In too many RPGs the side characters are fairly useless, but I never felt like any of my partners were useless or weak.

Also, I really enjoyed the ending. I won't spoil anything, but it was the first time (except for insane Metal Gear crap) that a game legitimately fooled me. The bonus content after really enriched the game's story too, and definitely set it up for a sequel.

I never used the auto-play feature. I just trained myself to get the hang of it. I avoided Easy mode too.

I loved the twists at the end of the main game and the reveal in the secret reports.

And there has been something I've wondered about the ending:

When Neku scream's 'What the Hell', why is he? I half wonder if he had to play the game one last week to get himself out of there too. Anyone have thoughts about that one?

His final game was the duel with Joshua in the ending sequence. The "what the HELL???" at the end was because he woke up in the Scramble Crossing again and it seemed like everyone was ignoring him. Until he ran into Beat/Rhyme at the Hachiko statue it seemed like he was in the UG again.

Hmm, I'll have to beat the game again. I thought it implied that a week passed before he met the others.

My brother just deleted my game, because he hit new game instead of using the chapter feature.... Now I have to play through again... Not such a bad thing, but all my pins!!! Lost to the void!

And you lost the ability to fast-forward through the dialogue scenes...

Yeah... But the story was a huge favorite of mine.... Reliving it isn't bad at all.... It's just hard to try to reassemble all the equipment and pins I had.

Haha! I have two of each as it is! Lily, Noah, Owen, and Nina.... They kill me, but I love 'em. Plus, I'm used to it; I completed Pokemon Blue and had every Pokemon, and that got erased too.... everything I do is erased eventually... I've gotten used to it.

I erased all of my Pokemon Blue too. And I was two levels shy of getting my all the way to 100.

I've erased all of my Geometry Wars data several times AFTER nearly getting all the way to where I was the first time. Ugh.

It's usually my fault it is erased. My little sister is uber careful with my save data if she is trying a game.

Yeah... But the story was a huge favorite of mine.... Reliving it isn't bad at all.... It's just hard to try to reassemble all the equipment and pins I had.

I agree that the story was enjoyable. But there were some parts I just wanted to skip. Usually the tutorial parts. Plus I replayed a lot of the days in my attempt to unlock all the back story pages.

Awesome game! Finished it this morning. Great story, probably one of the most memorable games i've ever played on the DS.... I'm looking forward to a sequel if they made one.......

BUT I'M UPSET AT THIS GAME!!

This game's controls are so bad that i actually got pissed off and unconsciously tried to break my DS in half... whenever you try to do one move, it either doesn't work or it interprets it as another input for another pin. If i didn't have a screen protector on the touch screen, it would have so much scratches. Excuse me while i replace the screen protector on it........

Thanks for doing this one. I have been interested in TWEWY since its launch, but now I am glad I saved my scratch.
