As a person who has studied English in college I can tell you right now we already have too many words as it is. This is one of those hobbies that only gives me an eye twitch.

Oh and it's Laurel, anyone that hears anything else needs to get their hearing checked. It's just a big hoax.

I'll bite. I heard nothing but yanny at first, but when I put the phone to my ear and tried to, I could make-out laurel. Now that I've heard Laurel, I have a real hard time trying to make-out Yanny. I forget if it was NPR or another news site, but they had an article with a slider that let you isolate each, and they're both clearly in there.
