Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 350: Theme from the Bottom

Congratulations on making it all the way to 350! I've been listening since about episode 87, and have been there for the (amazing) train wreck that was 103, man beams, many a retroactive, let's tap, and many many more things. Here's to many more episodes to come.

I highly recommend Streetlight Manifesto. One of my all time favorites. Here are some examples:

I've never given connectivity a listen, but the allusion to Big D and the Kids Table is enough to get me started.

Mm, I'm just trying to figure out which Rune Factory to get. I've been trying to figure which is the best one but it seems they all have their weird faults.

I really reccomend Rune Factory Frontier. I played the game to death, logging over 100 hours just to finish the story (and I'm one of those people that sucks all the life out of a game as soon as I get it), and I enjoyed every minute spent. It does have it's flaws, but ot is definitely worth it. I think Crimm can vouch for me on this one seeing as he wrote the review.

Just as an aside, I have played Rune Factory 2 on DS, and I just couldn't get into it the same way I did with Frontier

General Chat / Re: College Applications

When I went to college the only thing that seemed to matter for Scholarship and Grants where:

1) Are you a Minority?
2) Are you Female?
3) Are you Low Income?

I went at a particular bad time in the system.  I hope things are better now because scholarships and grants are great.  If you do a loan forgiveness program make sure your employer has you as full time.  My mom got messed over because even though she was working 40+ hours as a Nurse the Hospital had found a way to not label her Full time and she didn't get her forgiveness.

I applied for this school year (Penn State whoo!) and I can say that it is not better. It's worse.

I really don't like how they don't have the hand-drawn characters that pop up whenever you talk to another in game character. The rendered people just arent the same.

I was in a Gamestop a while ago, and they had a big board of the prices they would give for trade-ins. New Super Mario Bros. Wii was up there for $15 dollars. Out of curiosity I went over to the Wii section and saw a "pre-owned" copy of the sane exact game selling for $45. What a freakin rip! Though I was able to buy F-Zero GX for 4 bucks, yet without a case or manual, THROUGH THE MAIL!

Dude, that whole part of the game is a really long intro. You get married, have a kid, then raise 100,000G for a school (I know, tedious), then take over as the kid and the game really starts. It's such a long an hard game. That boss you kill in one hit is a joke.

Nintendo's default responses are pretty lame sometimes.

I  had a similar experience with this game (albeit not on the set of a movie, speaking of which I just tried to find you but sadly couldn't). I played through the majority of the game and just lost interest after a while. It just wasn't fun anymore. My sister (who owns the game) didn't finish it either.

Coming in contact spreads Lindemann syndrome. Poor sap. Now you'll own countless collectors editions that will never be opened.

Unbelieveable. It's great to hear that you're alright and away from the tsunamis. You actually saw the reactor blow? That's crazy. I can only hope that things get better.

And at any time during the day did you encounter live tornados or exploding bears?

I just rewatched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Even though it strays away from the original story line I still love it. I dunno what to say score wise. Ill gice it a 9.5/10

I feel that the brevity of this review reflects the quality of the game. When this is all that can be said about it, it really must be bad.

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World back in August. If someone couldv'e looked into my brain and taken that info to make a movie, it would have been this movie. It made a misstep here and there, but as a whole those small discrepancies can certainly be looked over. The humor was great and the pop culture and video game references were spot on. To give it a rating, I say A+

I really  need to know. What is the song used to que in and close out the drunkcast? I love it but I don't know what it is.

I do believe my favorite part of the while show is when Karl had a freudian slip and said sexmo instead of techmo. I lost it.  How did James survive this beautiful mess?

I hereby promise that my reviews for Fire Emblem and Battalion Wars will be online before the next episode of RFN hits the web.
You really should just slap something together to give to TYP to see if it makes it on the site. I'd enjoy reading that

It wont.
Trust me.
He would have to put it up just for laughs. It could be counted as a blog post maybe? Not a legit review obviously.

I met this news with disbelief. I had to look it up and saw that it is true, He has passed on. This week has been terrible.
