The singing would certainly be better, but now you might get some new raps from the Fresh Prince.

Omg I just realized there is going to be a reference in this movie like "Now that's one Fresh Prince" or something.

The Asylum version has a 60% chance of being bad, but the Netflix version... Now they could get any actor they want. They'd probably go straight to Andy Serkis.

I would definitely watch an Andy Serkis Alladin.

I don't think this is necessarily MCU related, which is why I'm posting it in here, but Marvel and HULU doing an animated version of the NetflixMCU.

https://parade.com/850869/rielyhaven/hulu-partners-with-marvel-for-4-new-series/

Quote
The streaming network and Marvel will create four new animated series, all executive produced by Jeph Loeb — Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show and Marvel’s Howard the Duck. The four originals will culminate in Marvel’s The Offenders.

Not Defenders, but the Offenders!!?
Howard the Duck, Hit-Monkey and MODOK.... wow. this one gonna be kinda wild, right?

I can't tell but that Frozen 2 trailer looks awful.  I am sensing the 2 main characters are going to have drastically different personalities.  But I am sure it will make millions.

Yes, but they are beginning to show too much.  But at least you can't really piece the movie together from the trailer.

In what I'm sure will be great news for one particular NWR forum user, Star Trek Discovery has been picked up for a third season.

I've been a fan from the beginning, but the show really seems to be coming into its own in season 2, so it's nice to see it'll be sticking around, if the dozen other Star Trek series currently in the works didn't already signify that.

I know some people find some of the Pokemon kinda creepy, but honestly, they're knocking everything out of the park as far as I'm concerned. The main character seems like a perfect fit, Ryan Reynolds works as the voice, just about every Pokemon looks fantastic, and you still don't know the full plot based on the trailers. I think the only movie I'm more excited to see this year is End Game.

Looks pretty decent. Mystique finally looks like Mystique, but it's a shame it took this long and also a shame they ever made her an X-Men member, especially the leader.

I am mildly surprised that it got renewed but reasons were not surprising. A lot of personal ego,"Creative" hijacking, sunk costs, Streaming Wars has been piled into this for it to die. Also more importantly they are desperate to have something, anything to put on CBS All Access to keep people subscribing beyond the month some sports ball is on. The ratings for both STD and AA subs have been terrible. Reportedly STD cost $200 Million+ a season, good luck recovering that money.

It will never stop being a horrible show as it is just fundamentally broken. It has gotten to the point I can't even hate watch it. I could seriously script doctor it into a better show but not as a Star Trek show, nothing can do that.

Also R.I.P. Picard. Also LOL if any of it is going to be Trek but in name only.

Orville last week has had it's HOLY **** episode with me absolutely on the edge of my seat in anticipation of the second part. They have spent time from the very beginning building up to this. This isn't just Trek, it's bloody good TV.

Good to hear. I haven't been keeping up with the show since the first couple of episodes this season were pretty underwhelming. Been meaning to go back to it, but there's just so much other stuff to watch.

Apparently the first episode of this season was suppose to be the last of the previous. Why? eh?. But It did make the start too Moclan heavy.

With Alara leaving there has been some episode shuffling which changed the episode to episode pacing as the characters are just that integral. The second episode had me laughing like a madman. The porn alien is fantastic.

I'm pretty sure they haven't given numbers for All Access subscriptions and I'm a lot more sure they haven't given any specifics of how many people are watching Discovery, so you're clearly talking out of your ass again. If you don't like it that's fine, but there's no need to make things up to support your argument.

I don't need to make things up. CBS AA has 2.5 Million subs last year of August after season 1 of STD which did very little for them.

https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/cbs-all-access-reports-2-5-million-subscribers

It's all about sport ball.

https://deadline.com/2019/01/star-trek-discovery-afc-championship-cbs-all-access-subscribers-1202539191/

Quote
CBS All Access says the weekend combo of the season two Star Trek: Discovery premiere and Sunday’s AFC Championship Game pushed new subscriber sign-ups and unique viewers to record levels.

According to CBS Interactive, CBS All Access added more subscribers in a single weekend than ever before, breaking the previous record set during the 2017 series premiere of Star Trek: Discovery by +72%. In addition, this weekend also set a new record for unique viewers on CBS All Access.

Specific numbers were not released.

“The return of our biggest original series hit, Star Trek: Discovery and this weekend’s AFC Championship Game have propelled CBS All Access to new record-breaking heights,” said Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer, CBS Interactive.

The AFC Championship Game marked the most streamed football game on CBS All Access to date, surpassing last year’s game by +158% in streams, +139% in time spent and +103% in average minute audience on CBS All Access platforms.

Now it reports 8 Million subs yet the company fell below expectations. One possibility is people signing up for a month and cancelling once they are done. Basically treating it as pay per view.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/14/cbs-reaches-its-8-million-streaming-subscribers-goal-two-years-early.html

Quote
Despite passing its subscriber goal early, CBS was down about 3 percent after hours after its results fell short of analyst expectations. The company reported earnings per share of $1.50 per share ex-items compared to $1.52 per share analysts were expecting. CBS reported revenue of $4.02 billion compared to $4.13 billion expected.

https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/the-orville-tv-ratings-fox-season-2-premiere-1203096981/

The Orville has these Live ratings when it released on New Years Eve.

Quote
“Orville” opened to a 1.5 rating/5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers in the Sunday 8 p.m. time slot, according to Nielsen’s live-same-day ratings. Those numbers will grow once delayed viewing is factored in. In September 2017 “Orville” also launched on a Sunday with a football lead-in to 8.6 million viewers and 2.8 rating in adults 18-49.

On the plus side, “Orville’s” sophomore year start is up 67% in adults 18-49 from the show’s season one finale in December 2017. It’s also up 56% in total viewers over the finale.

Think the percentage of AA subscribers would have to watch STD to match the Orville.

Part of why STD didn't get cancelled, CBS doesn't have anything else going for it.

Some salt might be needed as it cite inside sources.

https://fanfilmfactor.com/2018/07/23/a-funny-thing-happened-to-star-trek-discovery-editorial/

Quote
So what’s going on?  It’s hard to say with certainty, but I suspect that the folks behind Discovery (and the executives at CBS) are not ignoring what what has happened with The Orville.  Fox’s show debuted to comparable ratings as Discovery‘s pilot, and, even though total viewership dropped after its premiere, The Orville still pulled in 3.5 million viewers in the Nielsen overnights and even higher numbers in the 18-49 demographic when adjusted for delayed DVR viewing over the following three nights.

By comparison, some estimates of viewership for Discovery via CBS All Access are as low as only 250,000 to 500,000 per episode.  (Actually, it’s closer to 250K, but I can’t tell you how I know that.)  And even if every subscriber to All Access was watching Discovery (which isn’t the case), that’s still a million viewers less per episode than what Orville gets domestically.
