Are there any rumors or anything about Nintendo adopting VR with the Switch?

it is absolutely perfect to be a market leader for the tech.

they already have the display and the controllers in the peoples hands. just need the the headset to attach the device to and BAM instant potential largest gaming install base (excluding cellphones and basic free-ware micro-transaction games.)

I'd wager Ninty aren't very inclined to give a VR a second chance after the Virtual Boy. Sure times have changed, but VR is still pretty expensive, has no real must-haves besides Resident Evil 7, and I'm not sure if the motion sickness thing has been solved yet?

There's surely some Switch owners who would like to try VR, but I get the feeling the technology hasn't really taken off yet. Also you gotta wonder how many of Nintendo's core audience would really be down for VR, I mean this is a company that still hasn't really figured out online stuff and its audience (begrudgingly?) accepts that.

But it's a neat idea yeah, and I wouldn't mind being wrong on this!

But we already have the screen and the independent controllers.
If they released the head hear (the cheapest part of the equation) along side maybe Metroid Re-Primed, released an MK8 patch for first person driving, and a patch for Minecraft: Mario Edition, how could it fail?

I mean, it's a low risk add-on, or what is currently a niche market, but one that seems to be gaining traction, and they already have all the key components getting into consumers hands as we speak.
I figure by next summer, they would have a large install base ready for the next step, and maybe offering the headgear as part of a bundle next Xmas will surely be an enticing offer.

I mean I've only done 1 VR demo, and it was just watch only, but it was pretty damn cool, and would have been awesome if I could control what I was doing. I would love to see Nintendo revisit the idea now that we have the tech in our hands to do it right... and cheaply.

I don't know why this Switch VR idea keeps coming up. The unit is isn't nearly strong/hi-res enough to render any VR stuff on par with competitors, plus the tablet is way too big to slot into a head mounted display. It's not going to happen with the current system. And that's okay!

Not only that, but there'd be no motion controls in the headset unless you bought a second set of Joy Con. So, you'd really just be gluing a screen on your face to make it look bigger.  You couldn't really "look" around the world you were in.

oh, well... I dont' know the specifics on the tech, it just looked like something viable, as the only thing it looked like it was missing was the headpiece (which could house it's own motion controls, which would probably "justify" the price they would charge for the thing....)

But maybe in the next iteration of Switch2.0, should the interest still be there, or a killer-app idea happens to motivate Nintendo to move on it.

But I've mostly checked out on Swtich news for a while, and just these last few weeks, i bought my daughter (4yrs old) Super Mario Run on her tablet, she became obsessed... so then she dusted off the Wii U and has been playing SMB3D non-stop, and together we got all the way to the last level (I've never beat the game... I'm actually farther with her now, than I got when I was playing by myself).
so long story short, my interest in picking back up the controller has resurfaced and now I'm actively trying to get caught up so that I can probably pick up a Switch in the near future (probably post summertime when supply is stocked and games choices are plentiful).

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is the greatest On-Rails shooter ever made and one of the pinnacles of action gaming.  So yeah, everybody better be excited for a new one.

Of course the Sin & Punishment rumor comes from 4chan so I wouldn't put the most stock in it.  Yeah they have had quite a few correct rumors over the last year including the January Switch reveal but more often then not many of the rumors from that place are still fake.

Still I'd hope the rumor is true since a new Sin and Punishment would be awesome, especially since the rumor mention it looks like Platinum is developing it.  Considering Treasure doesn't develop games anymore Platinum would be the best choice to continue the series since after the way Star Successor ended, they're the only studio capable of even trying to top it.

Well, there you have it. 5 games and 9 confirmed sales and a 2 extra sale possibilty. No wonder they aren't making games anymore. You had your chance to support them and you failed.

If Sin and Punishment is being made by Platinum then it makes perfect sense.  If after working on Star Fox Zero, Nintendo wanted Platinum to work on another series then Sin and Punishment would be the perfect choice for them since Platinum is the best action studio in the industry and Sin and Punishment is the most hardcore action IP Nintendo has.

Plus who's to say there isn't a new Metroid or F-Zero in development?  There's a lot of studio's in the industry, just because someone like Platinum might be working on Sin and Punishment doesn't mean someone else, who would you know, be more qualified to handle the type of games Metroid and F-Zero are be working on them.
