There is no scenario where the Nintendo console gets "real" third party support unless it does exactly what the third parties demand. That is, the box needs to be as powerful as the competition, no "gimmick" controller, no weird software format
Everything you just said is true of the Wii U for at least a year or two.
"Wii U is kind of a special case," Kojima said via translator at a press Q&A last week. "The way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game."
Nintendo details the 23 games launching with Wii U on Nov. 18

Among the titles hitting on Nov. 18 are Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, ZombiU and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
"We're making sure that Wii U owners will have great games to play from the moment they open the box, and that a steady stream of fun new games is always on the way," said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's president and COO. "We have something for everyone, from new franchises to creative new approaches to familiar favorites."

I have been hearing from the internets real complaints about this launch lineup and I must tell everyone complaining are you CRAZY!!!!
This is literally the best launch line up day one of any system.
Yes, there are ports coming out on the system...but there are also plenty of new games, and games to fit all genres and all gaming audiences.
The more I think about this launch lineup the more I think Nintendo will have a good chance of starting strong and staying strong...and when people cry but you can buy those same games on the current systems...yes, you can...some of them, but you also don't get a shiny new system with new controller, and a next generation system...all system launches have some ports of old games...it happens.
But a system launching day one with 20+ games is terrific...and if they get even more than that...amazing.
I've never understood people's need to have this many good games at launch. With the system costing $300+, and each game coming as $60, the price of buying all these games is incredibly prohibitive. When I got a system as a kid, I was lucky if I could pick up 3 games, and then it would still take me a few months before I'd get through those games.
I guess this way maybe by the time I finish up the first couple of games, some of the other launch titles might be available on discount.
Not a mistake
Nintendo Spain fucked it with the first email, they forgot to write about embargoes and ****. Two minutes later I got a message with the embargo thingy, until 4pm here in Spain.
So maybe they just took down the page after the second email.
Gaming's most famous face has graced our cover on a few occasions, but it's been 16 years since our cover story has focused on one of his adventures. We recently had the chance to visit Nintendo of America to play New Super Mario Bros. U, but that's not all we did at the studio. In addition to our ten-page Mario cover story (featuring an interview with legendary designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka), we also have an extensive feature that will prepare you for the impending launch of the Wii U.Cover Image
Interesting. Have you played WW on the Dolphin emulator? I've heard it looks pretty good on that. And people say Nintendo isn't ready for HD development... they've been ready for 9 years! : : : :I'm guessing you are a Nintendo only gamer?
Wind Waker is still the best looking game I've ever played.
Nope. I've always been a multi-console owner, and nothing has come close to Wind Waker's beauty.
Okay, maybe Journey. But that's it.
My personal favorite looking game is FFXIII. Everything just looked pretty to me and looking at the scenery in the game gave me a sense of calm. I always thought WW looked great, but felt there were too many flat colors. If they were to make WW on the Wii U now without ever having made it on the cube, I think it would definitely rival anything out there. For what it is, it probably was the most beautiful game of its time though.
That's why everyone has their own opinion and their own preferences on art style.
