PS3 copy comes with a Steam Key that you can just plug in on the PC/Mac.

From my experience, dual analog worked fine for Portal 2. There are almost no puzzles that require quick precision aiming, so you can typically take your time when solving the puzzles.

So yeah, kind of an epic bump on this thread, which I do feel somewhat bad about; however, I don't have any other PixlBit related threads to bump.

In any event, last night PixlBit 2.0 launched. Basically, I'm just overly excited about it and wanted to share it with all of you guys. All week we are going to be featuring some exclusive content, so you should check it out!

The N64 was released with two launch games, Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64, and a third in Japan, Saikyō Habu Shōgi. The N64's suggested retail price was US$199 at its launch and it was later marketed with the slogan "Get N, or get Out!". The N64 sold 32.93 million units worldwide. The console was released in at least eight variants with different colors and sizes. An assortment of limited edition controllers were sold or used as contest prizes during the N64's lifespan.

So much jealousy right now. I want this game so badly, but I'm far too cheap to drop the cash on it.

The GameCube and all Nintendo home consoles before it released at $199.99 - the Wii was the first to buck that trend by releasing at $249.99.

I think that Nintendo would be foolish not to release their next home console at $299.99. Pricing it at $249.99 might hurt perception of the system because their handheld is similarly priced. They'd need to drop the 3DS price ahead of releasing their next home console if they expect to price it at $249.99. I think $299.99 is a very reasonable price because it's still in the realm of affordability; however, anything greater will make it a tough sell regardless of what's in the package. I think the PS3 perfectly demonstrates that point, as does the Xbox 360 which really hit stride with the $299.99 Elite model.

I experienced these exact same problems with the game. The difficulty is out of control. I could never settle on something that really worked for me - either the computer was wiping the floor with me or I wasn't challenged in the slightest. It didn't help that the game had more controls than I could possibly imagine for a soccer game. I think there's a proper audience for the title, but it's definitely not the casual soccer fan or even a casual fan of soccer games.

In any event, congrats on your first review insanolord and on becoming NWR Staff. It's a great gig, you'll enjoy it immensely.

Madworld 2 will be announced as a Wii exclusive at this year's E3 (I hope).

Not quite Madworld 2 - but kinda. Also, it's a 360/PS3 title.

Maybe he means the fiscal year for Square Enix? Not sure, but that ends tomorrow IIRC.

My large brain thought quickly one day when it created an attractive specimen of powerful erupting washing machinery. I've always been a genius, and the breastmilk on the tip were glistening so seductively that donkey spunk was just too irresistible. The end.

General Gaming / Re: Sony Hasn't Learned Anything, While Nintendo Has.
« on: March 24, 2011, 03:27:44 PM »
That's not true at all. Sony has weekly sales. They're not always good, but sometimes things are marked down to ridiculously low prices. Just a week or two ago I finally grabbed both Penny Arcade games for a combined total of $2.99.

Price drops also happen over time. Feel free to check out the PlayStation Blog every week, they post their deals up there on Monday or Tuesday (I can't remember which). We used to cover them on PixlBit, but have since stopped because they were getting to be long stories and reposting the information required a bunch of reformatting.

FWIW, I just traded a bunch of stuff with Amazon and it was extremely easy and I got a pretty nice return ($90 for a bunch of shitty Storm City review copies).

I searched the games in their trade in site, added them to the "cart", checked out, printed a label, drove to the UPS Store which is next door to Gamestop, funny enough, and sent them away. It took a few days to get the money, but now I can use it for whatever I please at Amazon.

I think Gamestop is a viable alternative if you want to get money right away, but I figured I'd share my experience as it's the first time I've ever traded in games.

What an idiot. This is not going to end well for anyone.

My father's side is from Bari, specifically here, and Firenze. My mother's side is from Rome and Napoli. I'd have to ask my wife, where her grandparents are from in particular - I can't quite remember.

Uh, marinara sauce is just what we call tomato sauce here in the US. I think it literally translates to sauce of the seafarers?
yes it's pretty much that. "Pasta alla marinara" literally translates to "seafarers' style pasta" and it's pasta (usually spaghetti or linguine) with seafood. It's actually pretty weird for me that you call tomato sauce "marinara", anyway I'm sure there are tons of English words that we in Italy use in weird ways aswell hehehe. We call tomato sauce "sugo di pomodoro" (it just means tomato sauce) and the one with meat in it "ragù di carne" (tomato and meat sauce) or "ragù alla bolognese" which you probably spell "bolonnaise" or something.

As an American of Italian descent, my family and I all call it gravy (ragu) instead of tomato sauce. My wife, also of Italian descent, calls it similarly. All of our grandparents who are "off the boat" have been calling it that since they came here and I suppose it has just stuck. At least here in America, you always know an Italian when they call it gravy.

Also, you can't get the stuff from the store - gotta make your own.

Meanwhile, GameStop has to sell it back at that one store. That's pretty limiting.

This isn't exactly true. I believe the games initially go back on the shelf at that store, but Gamestop ships games around to meet demand in given areas, or to spread stock between stores. But, yes, it is more limited than Amazon in its operational capacity.

My two biggest complaints about the place is the one UncleBob mentioned and the fact that they willingly toss game boxes and manuals for used games to make space in the store. Obviously, it's an understandable practice, but it makes purchasing a bunch of used stuff pretty unappealing for me.

We usually get stuff in about a week before the release.  I'm guessing Friday, Monday or Tuesday.

Mind you, they'll likely be restricted at the register, so there'll be no early sales. :D

Sooo.... Did those 3DS units come in yet?

Damn you, modern technology! I was hoping to beg someone at a local store to sell me one early, because I don't think Nintendo is going to send me one for early review... Bastards.
