TalkBack / Re: Netflix Impressions
« on: June 11, 2012, 02:39:04 PM »
It's about to get nutty with Netflix. There are six in my family, including my four kids. It's already pretty common to stream using two devices (usually Wii and 3DS/iPhone). Adding the secondary screen option is incredible. Whether its for a third movie (it does work, and we've got an average connection), or allowing someone to play on the gamepad while other people are watching their shows, it'll be great.

TalkBack / Re: Retro Info Not Coming Anytime Soon
« on: June 06, 2012, 09:08:23 PM »
I'll wait five years. So far, everything Retro has made is the kind of stuff you can come back to for years to come.
Sooner would be better, of course. ;)

Once I watched Tank!Tank!Tank!'s actual video on e3.nintendo.com, I was sold. It looks like an absolute blast!

TalkBack / Re: Killer Freaks Becomes Zombi U
« on: June 05, 2012, 11:00:02 AM »
I hope it turns out well, but Killer Freaks was my most anticipated game this year alongside Pikmin 3. :\ Ripped the charm and personality right out of the damn thing, didn't they?

TalkBack / Re: Castlevania: Mirror of Fate Set for an E3 Unveiling
« on: May 21, 2012, 08:03:22 PM »
I want more classic Castlevania than anything else. I enjoy the Metroidvanias, the 3D ones, and even Judgment, but they just don't match the early entries. Rebirth was awesome(I loved it enough to get the world record on it), but a shiny new one a little closer to SCV4 would be the bee's knees.

132
Hopefully its more Castlevania than Lords of Shadow was. Does this mean Igarashi isn't involved? Will it follow in the reboot's timeline? C'mon E3, hurry up!

133
If this end up being true, it had better have Tokata's song in it!

Because it would wear thin? That's why I like devs like him. He's not immediately thinking "cash cow sequel". A funny statement considering he's beginning work on what are essentially the fourth and fifth Smash Bros. titles, but it makes sense. ;)

TalkBack / Re: Hard Questions for Nintendo
« on: May 07, 2012, 10:37:47 AM »
I'd like to see these questions asked. I'd also like to bring up, in the VC's case, the GEN version of Super Street Fighter II. Y'know, the one with online multiplayer. It has been possible, just never used. Was this feature meant to be saved as a big selling point on the WiiU's VC, or was it really just a case of not caring to put forth the effort?

Why in the hell did I never think about the car thing? A whole new branch of possibilities opened up to me after that... thank you!

I want Castlevania:Bloodlines bad. Also with you guys on Lufia 2(First one isn't on there either, is it?), Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia. Gaia's absence is weird to me, considering the big push it got when it was originally released.
Anyone wanting Phantasy Star... if you have a 360 or PS3, get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. It has PS 1-4, both Shining Forces, and about 327462376 other games for a $20 price tag. My only issue with it is, as a 360 owner, the controller is atrocious for old school action titles. The fight pad isn't much better. Wii Classic controller all the way for that sort of thing. ;)

I grabbed Eco Shooter. It is a rail shooter, and while it isn't the best, it does have a cool recycling message and gameplay mechanic. A blast (pun intended) for high score junkies. :)

I'd totally forgotten about that one! Don't think it would have compared too favorably with what WayForward created, to be honest...

It's absolutely incredible. Hell, between it, the gold wiimote, and how damned good Skyward is, I felt almost like I was ripping Nintendo off. Given the asking price of the bundle.

Rockin' the Twilight Princess OST, and the Castlevania:The Dracula X Chronicles uber album right now!  :cool;

Even with the way Nintendo makes some truly bizarro decisions, I don't see how they could mess this up. Touch control with the tablet is perfect for this game. The only real mistake I could see them making would be to under utilize the online functionality... I didn't just jinx it, did I?

The original is rather obtuse... you're right on the money. On its own merits, I think it holds up really well, just a different time and school of thought. Remember, this was the same cat that brought us Pitfall; go back and play them back to back(or better yet, Pitall II), and you'll see this guy's signature.
All that said, and with all due respect to David Crane, Wayforward's game has more heart, and really shows what the games should be.

I wonder... is this a case of announced, like with release information? Or like Pikmin 3 announced?
I'll take a quick 2d platformer at launch with a couple of years to refine an experience to rival Galaxy, thank you!

It is a dual layered disk.

Number 27 tidbit of the day.

Smeg. Thanks for the response. I guess I'm borrowing a Wii that's less stubborn than mine, then.

I'm glad the reviews turned out as I have hoped; the trailers alone gave me a feeling about an rpg that I haven't felt since... hell, the mid-nineties?
A quick question; is this on a dual layer disc? Please say no.

Welcome to the forums, LudicrousDave!
Thanks man! I figured it was time, after years of reading. Long before the change from Planet Gamecube. :)

Years of lurking, and finally registering. ;)
Anyhow, Excitebike: World Rally has considerably more content than the original. What is it, 16 tracks, plus the editor? I'd say as long as you enjoy Excitebike, its a no brainer.
