I'm having a hard time understanding your statements Ian. Are you saying that Nintendo's new console should put graphics first and copy the gameplay startegies that MS and Sony are following? If that's the case, then you are clearly mistaken. Unlike MS and Sony, Nintendo makes the most profit yearly on their sales because they don't flush their money down the toilet like MS and Sony have done. It's impossible, for a smaller company like Nintendo, to fit your needs. Why do you keep condeming Nintendo saying "This is BS! There going to loose!" When they are doing the best that is possible for them? They have come to realize that they are not going to be in the number one spot again, so they are just trying to make a new experience. People will buy a second console if it does offer a new gaming experience. If the Rev. was merely a follow up of the GC and tried to fix the problems the way you are making them sould they would, then they would fall face first. Even if graphicaly you had a Madden game that looked and played the same on the Rev as it would on another system, people would still only buy it for the other system! What makes the controller so great Ian, is that you can have new gameplay experiences that weren't possible before.

I don't see the problem with the new controller. If Nintendo went ahead and make a console that tried the same ideas of XBox or PS3, they would fail. We all know Nintendo is more concerned about new game experiences rather than having the largest amount of graphic power in their system. Nintendo had games on the GameCube like Madden and Splinter Cell, but people still didn't buy them. They would rather have the same game on an XBox or on the PS2. We already know that Nintendo will have a standard controller for those types of games, so why are there complaints? The new controller is sure to offer new, innovative gaming experiences that are sure to impress any gamer no matter what console they have sidded with.

When I say it'll hurt the sales, what I mean by that is most people, not just gamers, would be buying the game for Xmas gifts. Having it for spring of next year will not mean that it wont sell well, but rather that it missed a good chance to sell more gamecube and zeldas for under the trees.  When I also brought up drought, what I was trying to say is that now we dont have a major game from Nintendo for Xmas for the GC, so now there is an empty gap.

Ian is not being too negative Spak-Spang, in fact, he is one of the most realistic people on this site. Not having Zelda ready for a holiday release is in no way a good move how you look at it. That game was going to sell GameCubes to most people and was the only real defense fans have for choosing a GC this holiday season. Its almost a joke to me that Nintendo is coming out this holyday season without a major holiday game but has a third verson of a system we already own.
Having Zelda released in spring will also hurt the sales they could of had if they had released it for holiday season. We also DONT need any more droughts from Nintendo if they are serious about being a competitor for the upcoming console war.

TP was going to be the holiday game from GC, so now what is Nintendo going to put the spotlight on for GC owners?

I actually got to play Fire Elblem at E3 and it did look pretty good, but the graphics needed a mega overhaul in my opinion. The Nintendo lady yelled at me for stopping in the middle of DDR because I looked liked an idiot, and spent the rest of the time playing Animal Crossing and Mario Kart DS.

"but... they still are making Twilight Princess, which is focused on the american market (something Im not sure I should be happy about or not)"

While this is a good point, Zelda is only ONE game that is coming out hardcore gamers are looking forward to on the GameCube this year. There are no third party games, or first party games that people are anticipating other than Twilight Princess.

"Unless Nintendo learns about lying, deceiving, cookie-cutting and overhyping they won't win"

The main problem is that Nintendo THINKS that the Japan market of games is the same as Americas. It seems that they are so concerned with rebuilding the market in Japan, that they forget to realize what American cusomers want. While new game experiences can attract a wide audience in Japan, most people would rather go with the bigger and better approach that Nintendo refuses to follow.
