Yeah I'm going to 3D. I haven't been to a 3D movie in years but I felt this one I should break that philosophy.

I hope I get the whole Imax sensation whirling around thing going.  Imagine this in VR??? *drool*

I'm going to try my hardest to convince my wife we should see Strange in IMAX. Could be totally worth it and it would be my first IMAX film.

While I have like 7 IMAX theaters within 30 minutes of me, none of them have any other times other than 730 pm and 9 pm. So strange. I'd have loved to sneak out after lunch on a weekday and catch it.

Nah it was quality 3D. They didn't cheap out. In fact I don't recall any scene where there was any pop out at all now that you mention it.

From the 3D preview, it had the effect of pulling you into the screen, not pushing you away from it.
It was visually deep in more ways than one.

Constantin Films, the current rights holder to Fantastic Four, is selling the Film Division.
I assume Disney/Marvel will drop the cash if the bid is open. Marvel's First Family may finally find it's way home.

Casting for Doctor Strange, and Iron Man were perfect. In the new movies they cast Mr. Fantastic wrong every time. Mr. fantastic needs to be fantastic. I always pictured Hugh Laurie, but that was 10 years ago. I want a really good actor who can be funny too. How about Neil Patrick Harris, or Glenn Howerton

I'm not sure I would even suggest Dennis for Mr. Fantastic... but I trust Marvel to select the right man for the job. Although I doubt Dennis would even be on the long extra extended list... should one exist.

Options 1 and 2 make me think of Kraang from Ninja Turtles.


I think 4 would be a cool possibility for a secret end show reveal. We have some mystery man with a plastic face mask, and this guy is a lead villain in a film, only for him to plug into a nearby monitor and reveal who he really is. I guess option 3 would pull that off good as well, while also giving a nice callback to Red Skull's reveal when he pulls off his Hugo Weaving mask to reveal is red face.

4 would have made a super creepy version for the flashback scene, i guess trying to establish Hydra as trying to get the Ant-man suit way back when.

The designs don't seem like they'd really fit, but I like number 4.  You show him walking around a lot in the movie, with Paul Rudd constantly trying to stop him.  At the end, he asks to see his true face and then he pulls out the screen.

I have to say, even though I still haven't watched a Waititi movie (What we do in the shadows, and Wilderpeople... or something...), even though I have both of them. My interest is MORE than peaked at this point to see what he is doing with this franchise. Maybe I should pop one of those movies and at least get a feel for his type of humor.

Hey, you guys remember that movie called Inhumans, that was supposed to end-cap Phase 3, then moved to start Phase4, then just kinda disappeared off the schedule after Feige took the reigns and booted Perlmutter down to manage the small screen activities?

Feige said it wasn't dead, and that Inhumans was still happening.

Well guess what. Inhumans is coming in 2017 to an IMAX near you!!!
But wait, that's only part of the story here, yes there is a catch.

Technically, it's not a movie, even though it will probably be close to 2hrs long in theaters.
It's coming to ABC next fall, after a 2 week stint in IMAX theaters to show off the 1st 2 episodes edited for theaters to promote the show to the movie going audience 1st.

and yes, this is the real Inhumans. The Royal Family. and it will be on ABC next fall.
I have no idea if AoS will have any connection to this, but if it's still around, they had better find a way.

IMAX is a co-financier, seemingly to use that Marvel brand to push IMAX to the small screen studios where even TV shows no longer want to look like a "TV Show".

My guess is that the limited time IMAX release w/ the Marvel name attached will bring in more than enough money to fund the entire series with a budget far and beyond a typical TV show of this length.

It will be an 8part Mini-series, so it will be taking a page out of the Netflix book, as ABC tries to bridge the gap between MCU movies, Marvel/ABC shows, and Netflix/Marvel quality content.

I know pretty much NOTHING about the Inhumans or the Royal Family, but I'm pretty excited for this now, as this will be the first significant Theater to TV crossover for the MCU

I think that was the point of the Inhumans.  Eventually in the Marvel Universe and to readers mutants became just a normal thing.  I mean eventually a world that has mutants in it...is going to come to terms with and accept them.  But the Inhumans are weird.  They are humans that are transformed into Inhumans with new powers.  They are supposed to be scary in a way mutants aren't anymore.

I'm more excited about this IMAX deal for what else could come out of the pipeline. There are a number of quality shows that could benefit from this treatment.


It could launch a Game of Thrones or Star Wars spin-off series, or be a viable way to fund and produce something for the long-lost Stargate series.

Some Defenders news:

So apparently all the 2ndary characters are appearing in this series.

So the main stars are obviously Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Iron Fist.
I think I read that the Punisher makes an appearance as well.

Now they've already announce Foggy, Karen, Stick, The Hand, and Elektra are in from Daredevil.
Jeri (The Lawyer), Trish (Talk Show Friend), and the Malcom (Wild Haired neighbor) are in from JJ
Night Nurse is most definitely appearing, as she is the connective thread through all the Netflix series so far.
Misty Knight is making an appearance from Luke Cage, because how else is she supposed to meet....

Saw Dr Strange today, It was a nice change of pace for the Marvel movies. I liked how he fought the villain at the end. the after credits teaser shows his buddy Mordo went evil, which is too bad.

Black Panther 2: Bigger Bolder and Black as Hell

Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays Mordo in Dr Strange, was the first actor I pictured to play Black Panther. I first noticed him in Serenity, the Firefly movie, because he was much better actor than 90% of the cast. He was fantastic in Red Belt too, if you haven't seen it.

My first thought for Black Panther was Djimon Hounsou but he's in the Guardian of the Galaxy.
