incidence rates of chlamydia in service men and women more than doubled from 2013 to 2018, gonorrhea infection rates also doubled for men and rose by 33 percent for women, and diagnoses of syphilis were nearly three times the number just 10 years ago.

Increased number of STDs in Hawaii linked to online dating
Hawaii health officials recorded 7,732 cases of chlamydia in 2018, up from 5,972 cases in 2008. Gonorrhea more than doubled over the past 10 years from 611 to 1,496 cases. Syphilis infections increased to 180 cases from 38 a decade ago, officials said.
More connections with many more people are made rapidly through online dating services, officials said.

A strain of gonorrhoea – described as super-gonorrhoea – which is resistant to antibiotics has been identified in England.
Three new cases of Neisseria gonorrhoea have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency, bringing the total to four in recent months, after the first case was discovered at the end of last year.
