Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 233: Don't Try Too Hard

Yes :D spread the good word of Soul Bubbles! That only reminds me that a few episodes back you guys had an email asking about other interactive type adventure games (tangent I realize) and I've been meaning to send in a write-up about a DS game I found tucked in a Gamestop awhile back called 'Thereisa.' It is a sort of adventure/maze game with inventory based puzzle solving and story that could rival 999 for 'wtf in horror'ness. There is a second story unlocked after you beat the first one two that I haven't gotten too yet so there is a lot of bang for the $8 I spent. Good times thus far. I'll send off a formal shoutout once I get to the second tale.

I think I may be the only one excitedly voting for Soul Bubbles which makes me very sad. I finally got a chance to finish the game recently since I had to replace my old copy of it and was actually thinking of sending in a shout email about it when i heard about the new poll. I probably will anyway at this rate.

Bottom line though it is a must have experience if you enjoy all the things that the DS hardware excels at

I may have to talk to my roommate about this... we are both big enough nerds that it might justify each getting a version of this game.....

Yea it really is sad considering how much potential the device has/had. i initially got mine FOR it's multifunctionality because I didn't want to carry around both a laptop and the brick of an original DS where ever I go. but in the end I was forced to go with a custom firmware just for stupid easy things like text readers or IM support that Sony easily could have implemented long before something like their limited internet radio.
Nothing Sony has done with it has really made any sense at all. Comics alone were a shocker (especially to a nerd like me) but they STILL lack the basic functionality of a text reader.

iunno, it is wacky.

It doesn't seem to load well on Chrome at all unfortunately. Firefox is beautiful though.

Well, i was mostly referring to the fact that the screenshots seem to include a cruiseship prominently.

Tell me this doesn't look like a remake of RE: Gaiden form GBC

Where and by whom has it been discussed to death? I feel confident in saying that Metroid II is the least played game in that series, and moreover, it might actually be even more a departure than Fusion.

Not to play Devil's Advocate or anything but you guy's were discussing it back in Januaryish 2009. I don't think the other games had come up much at all.
Looking at the list again Pinball might be an interesting talk if nothing then becasue I gave that a try for the first time a few months back just looking for another decent pinball game for GBA. It seemed kinda shallow at the time, but knowing Nintendo I probably just wasn't looking hard enough at it. (Or I've just been playing Pinball of the Dead too long and am forever tainted)

Well that is just a gorgeous thing there. One more thing to put on the DSiware wish list if I ever get one of those.

Huzzah! A Game Boy poll! I'm such a nerd for portables. For Ghost Babel too, since that was my first request on Radio Trivia. The game has a great deal versatility to it, with all the best things about 8 and 32 bit Metal Gear games and none of the cutscenes. Really I'd play this again just for the VR Training scenarios.

Fingers crossed it makes it to the 2nd chance poll at least. Metroid 2 is a solid game as well. There is just too much gold on this list
