How come after making the correct changes to a previous post of mine and clicking "Edit Message" I just get the message, "You cannot post to this category." What am I doing wrong here? Any feedback would kick ass...

If you're trying to edit a post in TalkBack, then it's a known bug that won't be fixed until the next version of the Forum software.
