A little off topic, but now that the Switch is coming out. Do you guys think Nintendo will lower the price of the WiiU? They can sell the WiiU for $150 with 3 pack in games or something. This can bite them on the ass because it'll eat sales from the Switch, although the Switch is very different compared to the WiiU and it was considered a "third pillar". Also, why didn't Nintendo ever cut the price of the WiiU or did they? I really enjoyed the WiiU and was really waiting for a WiiU 2.0 or HD or something, it has great games, no need to port all of it's library to the Switch just to make the Switch a success. Switch can still be success by itself with it being mobile and all. WiiU concept had so much potential, might it had better hardware people would have bought into it a lot more. Maybe i'm just nostalgic :(

And what the hell is gonna happen to my controllers? I have 4 WiiU pro controllers and 5 nunchuck/wii remotes. I hope the Switch is compatible with them. And also what's gonna happen to games that do utilize the gamepad in conjunction with the tv? There's really no way to port that concept to Switch. And what if some devs want to keep developing in that style? F$*k them? I don't know, all this killing the WiiU not sounding good to me.

I think the Switch has the potential to be a success. Yes 'the kids' have tablets now and can play cheap video games etc. But when 2 kids take their Switches to school, and play it at lunch time or after school other kids will watch. And if you're 14 and see two kids playing console quality on what looks like an IPad, you ask "hey what app is that?, can i play with you guys?" And they'll laugh and say "no, you need a Switch to play, 8 of us can play Bomberman together! you should get one!". Now think of this happening all over the world.

Trust me it has extremely great potential to catch on like fire and I think that is all Nintendo needs. No marketing will be better than word of mouth. Until now, i'm not sure you can't really play anything on an IPad with that quality of graphics and simultaneous online. Once you get third party support, there's nothing stopping this from going viral. If you get a shitty Call of Duty port, done deal. The question is, can the Switch handle 3rd party games at a steady framerate.

Well that would be true for most PC gamers. Personal opinion but I think most PC gamers are console owners, but most console gamers don't do PC games so it won't really affect Nintendo negatively. And if you buy Switch is so you can take it on the go and your steam library would be worthless when you go out. The point of this is for the most amount of people to own the Nintendo Switch, you're just a tap away from purchasing their first party or third party games (if downloadable).

Not to mention the whole play together with friends on the Switch with local connected multiplayer using four Switches connected. You wouldn't be able to use that on steam games. It's just an added plus to be able to play your pc games on switch is all i'm saying.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this. Being that the Switch is based off the Nvidia Shield concept and technology. What would the chances be that while you have your Switch at home, you can stream games to it from your computer using GameStream. This way all your PC library can be playable on your Switch.

This is a win win for both devs and Nintendo. Once the Switch sells like hotcakes then devs can start porting or making new games from the ground up for Switch. Nintendo wins cause all PC gamers will most likely buy the Switch too.

I don't know, I think it's a good opportunity if implemented well. The tech already works with the Shield.

And what if, since I remember correctly there was an old rumor Switch would run on Android or something like this. What if, it does have Android... And you can run anything from the google play store. Any mobile game... They can tap into ALL the market with one device. Console, handheld and mobile all in one system. I mean they are getting into the phone app game market with Dena.

Both of these would surely move Nintendo to the top in a matter of months and I think they would dominate for years to come.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Release Discussion (March 2017)
« on: October 24, 2016, 03:38:58 AM »
So I don't want to be all negative nancy with the Switch, but several points that have me worried.

First, how big will the pad be? It looks well sized in some scenes, but then in the basketball scene where 4 guys are looking at the pad it looks so tiny. I think a good size at least would be around 8-10 inches. I mean you're gonna play console level games not notepad crappy games.

Second, an ipad 9 inch is $300.00. If all goes well, the Switch is probably going to be around $250 - $300. How will this console be so powerful and play the latest games and be the same price as an iPad that can play candy crush and angry birds? It just doesn't add up to me.

And well the rest of the things already mentioned, heat... battery life... space.

I think that a great idea would be if Nintendo decides to tier the Switch's docking station. Offer 2 or more versions. The Pro version will have a better processor to help the Switch play AAA titles at max graphics 1080p 60fps games when it's docked. Something of that nature would be excellent.

And I think they won't leave the 3DS market cause of the Switch. I'm pretty sure I read something they said in regards to the NX not being a replacement of the WiiU or the 3DS. Besides, the 3DS has 2 screens and very different market, that one fits in your pocket.

Lastly, I remember I saw a rumor a long time ago about NX running on Android or something like that. Maybe, since it's a pad, it might have a Android Emulator or something of that sort. This way they would have the whole google play store library in their hands. You can play any games you want, from mobile to console. And with them getting into the mobile sector, it's a possibility

Hey Kim and Becky it is nice of you gals to do these videos. The guys at gametrailers did this like "let's experience the press conference with you while you watch us talk" thing which is ok I guess, but none were physically there, at least I didn't see them. I have been following this website since it's first traces back with N2000. So I have this feeling that with all the bigger companies like IGN this website may not be what it used to be. So I just would like to congratulate not just you girls but the rest of the NWR team (newcomers and experienced ones).

Taking the time and wasting your money to bring us the latest Nintendo stories is really neat. And I know you guys have passion for video games and I can tell that is your drive and not money or click-bait views.

Thanks for that really, keep up the good work :) (preview shows me null null null for no reason after this)

I'm not sure if this has been addressed, but does anyone know if this WiiU will upscale Wii games to 1080p resolution? It shouldn't be hard because Wii games are technically HD just not more than 420p. I wish this feature would be available since I haven't played several games like Sin & Punishment, Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Muramasa, Resident Evil 4 and others I can't remember for now.

Oh stop it with your crying! This game is how old? 14 years? I'm pretty sure that the majority of kids who were born in 1997 haven't played this. So what makes you guys think this game is meant for us who played the original. It's there if you played it but meant for people who haven't. So please for God's sake, stfu with your bitching, it gets tiring reading all this stupid trolling on Nintendo.

Wow I wish NWR would add likes and dislikes so I can feel the gratification of seeing Morari's comments in the negative thousands. It ticks me off seeing someone being so closed minded, negative and portraying the feeling that every comment they write is the pure truth and no way around it.

Person: Hey Morari, look, the sky is kinda greenish.
Morari: (sarcastic laugh) Stupid, the sky can ONLY be blue.
Person: No but look, if you see it from this an...
Morari: SHUT UP! I said it's blue, and that's it. I don't care for your stupid thoughts!

Opinions are opinions, but being a stubborn person is different.

Nintendo doesn't make much money off of me anymore but it's entirely because they stopped making games for me.  I was the loyal customer and they hung me out to dry.  I put up with a lot of their incompetent bullshit before they told me to take a hike.  They turned on me before I turned on them.  What you're basically saying is that if a company pisses off their loyal customers, they should just tell those customers to go **** themselves and go after someone else who won't complain.
What I'm saying is that you'll never be happy no matter what Nintendo does. You're in the minority of a minority of Nintendo fans who feel personally slighted. Everyone else realizes that Nintendo hit all of their big franchises on the Wii minus Star Fox and F-Zero. They just happened to appeal to casual gamers as well. That's why I don't buy this "Nintendo hung me out to dry" nonsense. Nintendo still releases all of these games we're accustomed to getting. They didn't stop making core games, YOU decided they weren't good enough or that you didn't get enough of them. That's YOUR problem. So, you don't like motion controls. Understood. GET THE **** OVER IT. There are plenty of people who like them and they're not all casual gamers. They're just people who like core and casual games and don't have a ridiculous checklist of prerequisites for fun like you do. You want Nintendo to shower you with all of their attention. Well, guess what, pal? YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO MATTERS. There's no pleasing people like you because you'll always want more than Nintendo is capable of providing. You want to stuff Nintendo into a box that they're never going to fit in. You want them to be a company they're never going to be like. You have this sense of entitlement that is absolutely exhausting. If Nintendo doesn't cater to you, one person, specifically, you're devastated beyond all reason.

Nicely Put!!

Ok Morari and the rest of you complaining, I understand your point with DS and Wii and the rest of the systems you may have. But how can you all, that haven't even held the damn controller bitch about it? Quit complaining until you guys have tried it which is a year from now at the least.

And this will stop parents from buying mature games to their children how exactly?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:paying for VC games

i get you guys, but there is an alternative, you could send your physical cartridge to nintendo, and then they can send you the game to the vc. I mean, its not like you can duplicate 64, nes, or superNES cartridges, probably if they were cd's but you'd still need the exact cd artwork. Anyways, if i had a ps3 or xbox 360, and it's 'backwards' compatible, why would i have to pay extra for a game i already have, and why would i have to get the old system out too. I'm not complaining about the service, don't get me wrong, i already bought mario 64, just that nintendo could make it better, i will eventually buy games i never got. Or if your repaying for a game, make it better, polish it or something.

Nintendo Gaming / paying for VC games
« on: November 26, 2006, 08:15:29 PM »
Hi you guys, i'm kinda new to writing topics in forums, but I just wanted to get my idea out. Am i the only one that sees paying for games you already bought wrong? I mean don't get me wrong, i will pay for VC games, but what if i already have mario 64, ocarina of time, majora's mask..etc. Can't i just send the game's serial number, or something of that sort, and get nintendo to send me the game to mi WII for free??
