That's a good deal, considering last time I checked on Amazon new copies of it were selling for like $80.

A word of warning -- every time I've seen Gamestop do this, it's because most stores, if they still had stock, were down to their display copy -- that is, the "new" game isn't new anymore because they've already opened it.

That was the case at my store. But still--only five bucks! The clerk asked me if I wanted to buy a used copy for $17.99. He was mostly kidding.

The current Deal of the Day is Tony Hawk Ride for Wii, PS3, or XBox 360, $40. I'm kind of curious how this game works, so this one is tempting... I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it at a price like that again.

Looking at the Lightning Deals that have already come, I'd say I haven't missed anything. The next one up, starting at 6PM PDT is "Enjoy this massive fantasy epic." Could it be an RPG, perhaps Arc Rise Phantasia? The last one, starting at 8PM PDT, is "Transform your Wii controller into sports equipment," so that one is clearly more shells.

For the Canadians in the crowd (and your kilometreage may vary on this), check the clearout rack at FutureShop. I was able to get Korg DS-10 for $6 today.

Amazon's video game deals are usually junk, imho. But once in a while it is something worth getting so it never hurts to keep checking just in case.

~~The Amazon VG DotD is Guitar Hero 5 standalone, any system, $9.99.~~ The GH where they finally got everything right: excellent interface for multiplayer (and parties), every song unlocked from the start, and able to get most of the songs from World Tour and Smash Hits as DLC.

You sure about that? I just checked and my deal of the day is a GPS system. When I view the product page for GH5, the price is $24.99.
