That is a reply only forum so it can't get cluttered up with extra threads. The host of whatever game is currently going on will be marked as a mod for that forum only, giving them the ability to make new threads, sticky threads, lock threads, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE I still expect the initial sign-up threads to happen in the funhouse here. That way it will get maximum visibility. I will then give the host the moderator privileges they need to start the game properly over on Mafia board.
Also, I'm not going to go through and dig up all of the old mafia threads to move there, BUT if you find one and PM me a link, I will move it for you.

I am going to accelerate the time I was planning to do my next mafia game so to create more excite for the new Mafia board.
I have been wanting to do a Mafia Kart Mafia style game...because simpler design.

I know what you mean. Good thing I hosted 3 mafia games back to back to back before this happened. Now I'm back of the list. Or am I? Maybe I'll quickly jump ahead to the front of the back with my next mafia idea. I think it would be very interesting.
I'd also raise a counterpoint to Pale's suggestion that the sign-up thread would have to start in the Funhouse. If the Funhouse can change the name of the Forum to Hungry Hungry Hippo Strategy Forum, then I see no reason why the Mafia Forum can't change its name to advertise the latest upcoming game. Just change it to: "New Mafia Game (starting date, I.E. Feb.1, 2009). Sign-Up Today." And then underneath it, you could even mention "Sign-up Thread Inside. Theme:________ Hosted by:_______" And that way, you get the maximum coverage for the game without having to stick the sign-up inside another forum. It will actually be announced on the list of Forums. One of the first things people will see when they come to the forums.
But alas, I am not moderator of that forum. I can only dream. And campaign hard. Annoyingly hard. That's what I'm good at.

This.. sort of. I don't really care about the mod powers but i've been thinking about hosting a game for some time now. I've think being able to experience a game from the host perspective would shine new light on the mechanics of it and ultimately lead me to understand the game better as a whole. Fact is i'm not the best mafia player, but just maybe hosting a game or two could change that.
It'll be awhile before i do though, i need to research the past mafias to make sure i don't repeat a theme.
