I've also tried to go back to both the original Pikmin and the NewPlay Control and I find them almost unplayable.  Pikmin 3's controlsare so good, it's incredibly difficult to go back.

I would LOVE it if they remade the 1st two Pikmin's with Pikmin 3'scontrols.  But I certainly don't have my hopes up.

For a 100% fruit speed run (without glitches) 12 days is the goal. And doing 9 days while getting limited fruit can be a nice warm up.I've done this tons of times, and yes it has cut into my time forplaying other games.

If you have fun I would be MORE than happy to give the basic formula Iuse for the 12 days but for now, I'm just thankful that Pikmin 3 isstill part of the conversation at RFN.

Do you feel that Nintendo is releasing too many Zelda games? From 2011 through 2016 there will have been Ocarina of Time 3D, Skyward Sword, Four Swords Anniversary Edition, Wind Waker HD, A Link Between Worlds, Hyrule Warriors, Majora's Mask 3D, Tri Force Heroes, Hyrule Warriors All-Stars, and Zelda Wii U. While of course not Mario levels of exposure, is Nintendo running the risk of taking away Zelda's event status?

"Help us stop this atrocity of a game from bearing the beloved Metroid franchise name and make Nintendo halt production on it."

This is a quote from a petition that already has 12,000 signatures on it. While I understand the disappointment of Metroid fans (I was hoping for a side-scrolling sequel to Metroid Fusion myself) don't you think this is a bit over the top? Do you think this is a reasonable response to the Metroid Prime: Federation Forces announcement? And, of course, most importantly, which of you will be signing this petition?

I'd love for Syrenne to come back some time to talk about Rhythm Heaven and Ace Attorney.

I really appreciated Syrenne's comments on Xenoblade X (keep in mind that Xenoblade Chronicles is my all time favorite game) and Fire Emblem Fates (keep in mind that Awakening was my favorite 3DS game until Xenoblade 3D came out yes I double dipped and never regretted it)
I had lost my excitement for X and now it's back and I was wondering what to think about Fates and now I'm really excited for it (my only remaining question is if I can handle more than just the easy version as I tried the lunatic mode of Awakening, after I beat it on hard, and I could only beat the first level)

Thanks for the insights

Sorry about the change in font size, I copied and pasted Syrenne's name from the article because I didn't know how to spell it and I guess it killed it. I'll try to fix it here below.

I hope someone comes back on the show at some point to talk about Rhythm Heaven: The Best Plus. I just beat the game last week, and it really is the best Rhythm Heaven so far. All of the correct challenges were brought back from previous entries, and the new challenges are all a blast. Although it takes the game a while to bring on the remixes, they are all pretty amazing, particularly one featuring a song that is sung by Tsunku's daughter. I'll have my fingers crossed for a western release of this game, because it is not to be missed!

Thank you for the clear and level-headed discussion on some hot issues. Also, thanks to Syrenne for lifting my previously-down spirits up on Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fire Emblem Fates!

Are you kidding? I'm excited about the prospect of doing "whatever Nintendo decides to release"active. In the past it's never been a recent release which makes me less likely to jump on board. I think I'll be more likely to join in this way. Plus we'll be showing Nintendo we want more VC games because right after release a bunch of us that might not have bought it any other way will be suddenly buying whatever this game is.

Just want to point something out: "Next VC"active is coming at a time when the last releases were Fire Emblem, Star Fox, Mario and Luigi, Legend of Zelda, and Mario Tennis.

(Though Nintendo ceding the slot to Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town right as they're due to release Prime Hunters and Prime Pinball would be an amazing act of Jonny-trolling.)

as someone in the "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is my favorite video game of all time" camp, hearing James talk about hte game was deep catharsis. The look of Yoshi's island is what inspired me to try drawing.

Artoon was indeed on the dev team for not only Yoshi's Topsy Turvey, but I believe they were also the developers of the Yoshi's Story GBA Tech demo that was shown at a few E3's, but I have no way of confirming that. What I can confirm is that I pretty much hate every game Artoon has ever made. Blinx was not good, neither was Pinobee, nor Blue Dragon or Vampire Rain!

they did NOT have anything to do with Touch n' Go. that was entirely EAD Group 4, helmed by Tezuka.

I especially hate Yoshi's Island DS, and I didn't even want to play New Island after I heard they brought back basically the smae dev team.

I discussed my VC plans with Jon as well as another friend of the show, prior to its announcement. Jon was delighted at the prospect of the wheels falling off. Our unnamed friend laughed, seemingly self-assured that disaster was coming and he was clear of the blast radius.

Future Retroactive Jr. segments will get unique selection criteria. I'm planning that we give everyone on the show a chance to pick one - whatever criteria they use we cannot contest it. Jon and I will be tempted to troll. Maybe we'll give a selection or two away during the telethon.

Please bring back Syrenne as a guest in the future!  It really is an art to discuss games in detail without veering into spoiler territory, and I thought she did a fantastic job explaining why we should look forward to Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fire Emblem Fates.  Best of all, she was succinct.
