Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 415: Boring Victory Lap
« on: February 03, 2015, 11:45:44 PM »
Just as a precaution since the poll is using Survey Monkey, is it possible that people could vote multiple times immediately? Because if so then the voting might be flawed (Although I'm pretty sure you guys have already thought of this so just ignore this if we are all good :D)

Otherwise I reeeeeally want to try Sin and Punishment, it sounded like a fun little experience to have, especially if the whole crew is playing. And I want to appreciate the Sin and Punishment that is on the Wii so I can readily play that game right after.

The other choices are pretty great too which makes this a tough Retro Active Poll, although I don't think Pokemon the Trading Card game will really be an interesting play through, as card games tend to gear towards a different audience, plus I don't think I would enjoy the game itself after hearing James' reaction towards the game.

I watched gameplay from this game via game grumps, and I completely agree, this was an embarrassment to watch. Not even Sonic 0'6 was this bad. Sorry you had to play this game for five hours Daan, sounds like a nightmare D:

At the least though, all these games are easily playable and fun to talk about so honestly it's a win-win

My vote has to go to Pandora's tower. A.) A game I've been meaning to get for some time B.) OP Rainfall did a tremendous amount of work to get this game to go overseas and I'd love to hear the crew discuss it. C.) Any niche Japanese title that James Jones plays is just worth listening to.

I might attend the best buy at Iselin NJ, I hope to see Neal Ronaghan there!! Unfortunately I don't have a 3DS so I won't be streetpassing anyone haha. Hope to see other NWR fans there as well!

But this all stands as to whether Nintendo wanted him to be pronounced Mar-shIp-O (which is kinda hard to pronounce if you ask me) or marry-oh. If they want Italian (which he is right?) then its definitely MARket-REap-Oh, because that is how an Italian would say it.  http://www.forvo.com/word/mario/ (just some pronunciations.) if you get into semantics about how to pronounce it, then it just becomes a potato, potato thing.
Personally, Mar-ee-o just sounds right, i can't really pronounce it the other way :P (just my opinion)

Firstly, I really hope we haven't cut off the predictions from last year/ predictions for next year episode, for that is where the legendary 5 minute stinger appeared on episode 226 and it was an awesome episode to listen to. I hope you guys can do it again for 2011/2012.

Secondly, that contest sounds awesomely hilarious, but the reward of never making fun of him again? no, I like the Daddy thing. The episode will be a cacophony of laughter. It would be awesome.

I commend you orangeninjadaniel, everything you said, I couldn't agree more. The third generations were one of my favorite pokemon games ever.

On a side note, any chance this might be a Pokemon Grey?

Wait, how is the belly of a whale new? In kingdom hearts 1, you visit Pinocchio inside monstro's belly and fight bosses and junk. Is it different in any form? or is it something totally unrelated to monstro....?

EDIT: Sorry, I just read Pedro's post and it made more sense in his explanation than what I thought about. Thanks Pedro, I know your a KH fan.

I have to ask why its priced so high! Is that cuz of Japan only? or is there something extra that makes the game worth more?

General Chat / Re: Questions for the NWR Japan crew
« on: October 02, 2011, 10:01:06 PM »
So, I have a big question for the Famicast.

In America, mobile gaming has gotten quite enormous. People are enchanted by the fact that they can buy an ongoing "mini-game" so to speak for as cheap as one dollar. Just to name a few like Angrybirds, Cut-the-Rope, and Fruit ninja.

Firstly, are these mobile games (maybe not the games I mentioned but just mobile games like on a cell phone like the iphone) as popular in Japan as they are in America? And if they are, do you think that it will also "ruin the handheld gaming" as some people are led to believe? And if they are not really worth mentioning (mobile games that is) why is that for japan?

Thanks a lot if you're reading this on the show! Great job Famicast, I'll be looking forward to the next episode.

Really great show.

No seriously, good show.

no, im not kidding.

okay, im done.

Anyway, this whole discussion got me so motivated to go to op rainfall's blog and join in the fight against NOA, now im gonna send nintendo a letter along with spamming their walls on facebook with "why nintendo, why?"because (even though i love the work NWR does for nintendo) i am one of those nintendo guys who only picks up his wii for VC and the occasional zelda game.

Finally!!! the tanooki suit is back and ready to rock the 3ds! Hopefully the controls are ironed out in the release of the game. I am actually pumped for a super mario for the 3ds; hopefully we all have a good time with the tanooki suit.

TalkBack / Re: Project Café Game Concepts
« on: May 29, 2011, 04:05:27 PM »
I love the first Idea James C. puts up, it's sounds unique and awesome, but the only problem I find with the second idea is that lets say you get a star and keep it in reserve, then you get a golden mushroom in reserve also, eventually you can catch up to lets say fourth or fifth place, boom you use your golden mushroom as much as possible, then boom you use your star and then  it just becomes unfair and not fun. The best part about the game is the randomness (not saying this concept couldn't work) but i dont know if it would work out too well.

22
First thing I have to say is that I agree with Crimm. The voice acting is hilarious. Other than that, I'd like to ask the rfn crew (for the podcast ) and for anyone else, I'm playing Perfect dark on the 360 (My gamertag is beastxxshadowxx btw) and it looks really good to me. So far, I'm loving the gameplay and the cool scenario dark finds herself in. The only I've had is figuring out what to do next for some kind of puzzle, thats not really a puzzle, its more like you don't know what to do and you've looked in every room and berating your self going WTF! Have any of you (Rfn crew and forum) encountered a problem like this? and if  so, in what level or mission?

23
i saw perfect dark across my xbla screen and went "hmm, looks cool. I'm too lazy to buy it though." then the last retro active came up and I saw it as a candidate and was like, "HEY! I CAN ACTUALLY JOIN THEIR CONVERSATION!" Sadly no. lol, but hopefully Perfect Dark wins this round, cuz it seems kinda fun!

FIRST

Other than that, Seems like a very unique way to approach the game, and it's going to be interesting to see how fan's and me react to how the gameplay reacts with this "drop" concept. I am intrigued.
