Oh please, everyone - including people who hate anime - watched DBZ as a kid. I used to think G.I Joe the animated series was good. It means nothing. Shall I bring up what you said about Fragile Dreams? Hmmmm.

This is definitely the beginning of the end. Remember when Metts expressed his hated for the anime art style and everyone bashed him because of it? Notice how he suddenly enjoys it/doesn't have any critiques. Psh!

Metts can be annoying and quite frankly a bit up his own ass sometimes (some might even argue most of the time). I'm actually starting to enjoy the episodes when he's out.

What?! DS2 is far easier than DS1 and Demon's Souls. This is coming from the guy who couldn't finish Demon's Souls and barely, by sheer luck, completed DS1. Both games are beyond difficult. Quite frankly DS2 is for beginners. It's kind of a disappointment in the difficulty and atmosphere department. DS2's world is boring, nowhere near as Gothic or depressing as the first two games. It's probably the weakest in the series.

Jon, what on earth are you smoking?! The Last of Us is nothing like the Uncharted games. Speaking as someone who absolutely hates the Uncharted games, The Last of Us was a pleasant surprise. The game also has a great and unexpected ending! Ugh, you had me screaming at my iPod.

I hated Ni No Kuni. James, do yourself a favor and don't listen to Jonny. I don't what game he played, but it only gets worse - as does Oliver's voice acting. Notice how he's the only American sounding one out of a cast of Europeans. His British accent slips in every now and then. The game is all looks and no substance. That wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't such a banal experience.

Considering this entry model is launching with Pokemon and removes the thing Nintendo does not recommend for anyone under seven years of age, resembling a child's toy is exactly what this should look like.

The price is very attractive to me (I still don't have a 3DS), but that design is the number one reason why I won't be buying it.

C'mon, people! The 2DS (great idea) looks god awful. What were they thinking?! It genuinely looks like a child's toy, and a cheap Chinese knockoff.

Are we going to regurgitate the same complaints about the Wii U launch until the games come out? Because if that's the case, then this podcast is going to become very repetitive until August.

Making the same complaints over and over and over again is not going to make these games come out any sooner. "Give us these games. Give us these games." Give you what games? Games that aren't finished? Look, it's a sucky situation, it has been for a while. But you guys act like Nintendo is sitting around doing nothing, rather than what they are actually doing. They're busy making these games that you all want to play.

As much as it sucks, the time for complaining about this issue has passed. They know the complaints. They've heard the complaints. They've blatantly told us that they're working to fix things (whether via Directs or other means). The time for waiting has arrived. I don't like it any more than you do, but your complaints are falling on deaf ears, because they're not listening to you, because they're already working hard to fix the things you're complaining about.

It's getting kind of annoying listening to the same complaints over and over, so find something new to complain about please.

Well, it is the reason why I don''t own a Wii U yet. And to be honest, I don't see much on the horizon. Call it a hunch. I really am starting to believe Nintendo should just leave the console market. I waited for Skyward Sword and look how that turned out: one big disappointment.

...it wasn't Jim Sterling part...more his topic of conversation

Oh! Well, that's what happened with last week's episode... Couldn't think of anything else. Anyway, you don't go that far (no one does), but your humor is very much appreciated - you always manage to make me smile. <3

Don't ever change, James! I love your humor.... Though I am the same guy who loves Jim Sterling's humor on Podtoid. I believe good ol' Jim went on a 50 minute rant on rubber dildos on last week's episode. It was amazing. And yeah, the game talk was cool, too. Never change. One other thing: opinions!

I was happy with this post...then it went to a place I don't feel great about being compared to...

In my book, you should feel honored that I compared you with Jim Sterling. I'm being serious. Anyway, RFN is perfect the way it is

I can see by John Metts reaction, and the rest of the cast that you guys are in full panic mode for no reason. Nintendo is in a real bad bad position? Hardly, the Vita is in a real bad bad position. The system has been out for a full year and it still has no games on it.

Bull****.  Despite its poor sales, there are more great (exclusive) games on the thing than on the Wii U right now. Hell, Persona 4 Golden alone is probably better than most of the stuff Nintendo showed the titles of in that last Nintendo Direct.  But hey, that's just my experience as a person who actually owns a Vita and knows what he's talking about.

If what the Vita has doesn't appeal to you, that's fine. But it's had more than a few quality games on it in its first year.

Well I guess you're alone 'cause nobody is buying that thing -- no matter how many "good" exclusives it might have. Also, why on earth would someone buy a Vita to play a damn PS2 game. Persona 4 no less! Ugh.

Oh yes -- The Gaping Demon. Only the Japanese can come up with a boss like that... I really would like to meet the man who created it. What was going through his mind? How did it get approve? I mean, it even has a... In fact, it's the weak spot! Anyway, James, I'm enjoying your update on this and Minecraft. Please keep it coming. Me being being a big fan of the Souls games, I always love to hear conversations about it. Don't give up!

Oh, and for the record, my favorite game of all time is Chrono Trigger.

Just out of interest Glad0s, how did you get into Chrono Trigger? Was it through the press coverage of the DS remake/Virtual console re issue, a personal recommendation, or something else?

Well, in all honesty, it was mainly Jonny and Greg's constant adoration for it on the podcast (and Jon's never-ending quest to finish it) that finally got me to play it. It was my first non-Mario-or-Pokemon RPG, and I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. I grabbed it as soon as it showed up on virtual console.

In other news, I decided to make a little video. I hope you all enjoy.

James Jones is quite the villain. Nice vid.

Good episode. As a Bethesda hater (not really, but close), I just want to point out why I really dislike their products. I've played about six hours of Oblivion and I finished Fallout 3, both in the Playstation 3. The problems you discussed are also true to these previous games. Fallout becomes nearly unplayable after a while. I would have to reboot the game every 10 minutes to avoid it freezing in a slide show. As far as I know, Skyrim suffers from the same problems. The fact is Bethesda knows their engine will not work properly in the PS3 as it doesn't have as much memory as the PC in which it was initially developed. They know it for years now and they don't care to change it because they think the press, for most part, is to eager to bite the hype and objectively review their games and their customers are stupid enough to learn from their previous products. As the company appears to not care about their customers' experience, I stopped caring about their games.

Regarding Skyrim, I might be biased but I am not sure why so people are excited about it. The graphics are better than Oblivion but the characters still look pretty bad. Also, if the game follows Oblivion and Fallout and considering what I heard so far, the story should be mediocre at best without no emotional linkage to the player. Finally, I keep hearing praise for this game from the same people who complains about padding in Skyward Sword. Really? I guess Bethesda improved their quests design a lot since Fallout.

I thought  Fallout 3, Oblivion, and New Vegas had better quests/overall story than Skyrim. In fact, Skryrim's story is pretty bad. Let's just say when the main quest ended, I had to go to my quest log to see if that was really it.  To be honest, I don't know what happened. I don't know who is who. And most importantly, I don't care. The game is nothing but a big disappointment. As for Skyward Sword, the game is f'ing boring as hell. I know plenty of people (even hardcore Nintendo fans) who stopped playing the game. I'm sorry, but that game looks ugly, Link looks like an idiot holding the sword, the worlds are uninspired, the music is pretty meh, etc.

Look, I'm a Bethesda fan, but their bugs are starting to piss me off! For instance, an entire city is bugged for me (I'm playing the PS3 version). Literally -- the entire city of Markarth is unplayable because an army of guards would always attack me for no reason whatsoever. The conversation system does not work in, or around the city: a guard would come up to me, tell me I've killed someone and must go to prison, I'm given a choice to submit or fight, I chose to submit but the game doesn't register it, so the guard echos the poorly acted sentence again! It's an endless cycle of repetition until I leave the conversation and then he, and an entire army, starts attacking. I'm about 40 hours in, and I'm not starting this fucking game over again! Also, it must noted that Bethesda said they leave a lot of bugs in the game because it's "funny." UGH!!

What to hear something funny? I bought Skyrim day one, and guess what? There's a bug preventing me from finishing the main quest. I've spent about 60 hours in the game, and I'm not doing the whole thing over again just to fix the bug!!!! Ugh, I want to finish the main quest, but I can't! This pisses me off! I'm with James on this one!

Greg, you're simply amazing! Really, you are.

Notes on a page don't make a song. They're an important component, certainly, but they're not the only identifier. Instrumentation, dynamic content, performance style and tone are all elements of a composition. The notes are much the same, but the tone is entirely different. This is a high-dramatic tension performance. The actual Gerudo Valley theme is laid back. It's folk music.

This is a different song.

I still prefer this version the most! Am I the only one who likes this version? Come on, the intro is pretty amazing!

25
I loved Gerudo Valley, Greg. In fact, I thought it was better than the Spanish original.

For everyone else, here's a bootleg copy of the song (pretty good quality): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLXGFUCeshs
