Also, so agreed on the griffin sequence. Terrible controls, and not at all fun. Just something to be endured. It's a shame, because it could have been pretty cool. In the sequel, the griffin part is just a weird (and weirdly long) ride to another part of the map -- as if they were planning to eventually have something happen on the way, but never got around to it.


War is a bit of an errand boy too, but it's probably less annoying because Samael is the one sending him on the errands -- agreed that his character design (and voice) are awesome. He's even better in the sequel, with even less screen time.

I got the digital version, and had a few freeze-ups on my first play-through (and yes, had those in DS2 as well, mostly in early play-throughs). Also had a hard time getting through the Three Crystal Blades part of the Twilight Cathedral, because as soon as I'd get the third blade, War and his enemies kept sinking into (and falling through) the "stone" floor of the dungeon and just getting stuck floating in underground "space", or falling forever. Weird and frustrating bug that took many attempts to progress past it.
