TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Needs to Stop Caring About What Other People Think
« on: February 10, 2013, 03:18:52 PM »
You would have think Nintendo would have learned by now how well western 3rd party promises turn out with the bail out they did on the 3DS launch. And it took Nintendo making some aggressive moves to save it.  They have other options available to them, including fostering an environment where smaller-medium budget games can survive, bringing in more stuff to the west from JPN, locking down the indie market on consoles, bringing their antiquated user account system into the 21st century, expanding and creating new studios in the west to create content more geared toward western tastes, allowing NoA and NoE to have more authority  when it comes to publishing and marketing over their perspective markets (im assuming they had little to no authority because no one in the west, in their right mind, would have ever called it Wii U over Wii 2 or even Super Wii lol). They should be as ruthless with their console markets as they are in the handheld space.

I'm thinking they may have to have something packed in, even if its not Nintendoland.  Nintendo is responsible for the expectation  that if you buy a Nintendo console system, there's gonna be something for you to do out of the box.  At the very least, some sort of software trial or pre-loaded demos.

The good news it appears nintendo's lifting it's space limitations (40MB on the WII) for it's marketplace.  Trine 2 is 1.2-/1.3 GB so I'm expecting to see more support for WII U.

Not sure if Tank Tank Tank is going be an retail release or WII ware title?  Can't see myself fooking over $60 for it but if it's $15 than maybe that'll be a fun little shooter.

I think it would embarrassing if Tank! Tank! Tank! was a retail release for both Nintendo and Namco Bandai.

After how Namco Bandai released RR Vita, Split one piece unlimited cruise SP into two games and then sold both halves for FULL price, I don't think they know how to be embarrassed.

TalkBack / Re: Wii U Has 8 GB of Internal Storage

I cant find fault in this at all, as an owner of an xbox360, id rather just be free to apply whatever storage solution I want for my console.  Would be nice to buy a external 2TB HDD and never worry about storage throughout the entire life of the console.

wow, didnt expect to wake up and see actual WiiU gameplay footage today.  If there was ever going to be any leaks, I figured it would probably come from Ubi Soft.

I don't blame the guys as much who made this knockoff game as much as I blame Apple. China makes knockoffs and bootlegs of everything we can think of, this is nothing new. This is just Apple, yet again, not caring about what shows up for sale on the App store.  Now, if someone uses an image of an apple in their business or has a device shaped like a rectangle with rounded edges, the Apple legal team will rip them to shreds like vultures on a bloated carcass.

I love how Gamestop immediately blames Nintendo and just completely ignore the fact that Amazon, Best Buy, K-Mart, Toys R Us, and even Wal-Mart to a degree are giving customers actual incentives to shop with them.  Real incentives like discounts between 10 to even 50 percent off on the purchase of new games. Gamestop's competitors also offer rebates that are 10 or even up to 20 dollars off of their next purchase which may likely also come with a rebate as well which will continue to bring that customer back.  They're putting hooks into their customers without bs'ing them with buying into a rewards system that gamestop  that rewards the purchase of overpriced used games.  If you really look at it, all gamestop ever does is try to secure the "best" exclusive pre-order DLC for new games while everwhere else you save actual money to go towards new games which will ironically probably retail for less than the used versions that gamestop sells you for 100% profit.
