Tomorrow will see the release of Premium formats, providing a further boost which should propel Endgame to over a 1 million tickets, joining Infinity War as the only other movie to pass the mark. Difference being Endgame will do it in its 3rd day of presales, not the night before release! It will therefore also surpass Age of Ultron's final take tomorrow.
Barring a massive slowdown, it is currently on track for 1.8 - 2.0 million tickets presold, which is an absolutely phenomenal number given Infinity War had the previous best at ~1.15m tickets.

In less than 24h of presales, Avengers Endgame sold 200K tickets in Vietnam, quadripled Infinity War 3-day number of 50K

I believe that's around $16M (100k in tix = ~$8M)

I watched the entire Kakao Talk Avengers End Game celebration.  It was really nice, but Jeremy Renner looked high the entire time.  Like he didn't know where he was or what he was doing.  It was hilarious.  Brie Larson and Robert Downy Jr. were the highlights. 

What was really amazing and shows how amazing a person he is.  Was after the event, they were being led off the stage to their next event.  He actually went back on, and had an unscripted message to give the fans.  He basically said, 10 years ago was his first visit to Korea and many people were just kids then.  But now they are adults and he can see them following their dreams with a passion and not to give up.  This is a message Korea really needs to hear now. He said he loves this country and I actually believe him.  It was a great message and it makes me want to support him and Marvel more. 

Way to go.

Interesting given he didn't need to, since Titanic is second to Avatar.

Raises the question if he will do something similar if Avatar is crossed in the worldwide box office. Right now there is a $484 million difference between the two. Assuming it makes the same amount of money in the US through the rest of its run that Infinity War made (unlikely, it will probably make more as it has never dipped below Infinity War in a daily comparison) that would be $200 million alone there. Can the rest of the world give it the $285 it needs to beat it? I'll say yes, although not savvy with movies that have opened as wide as this did and what a normal drop might be (usually releases are more staggered worldwide).

People took his prior statements (which *did* seem like a bunch of crotchety old man sour grapes) and blew them up to make it sound like he hates life and fun.  He probably just wanted to get it established that he has nothing against the cast and crew that worked hard on the movies.

It's going to be very tight right now if it does overpass it.

Endgame went from being well ahead of Infinity War in terms of what it was making on a daily basis to more or less being equal. Assuming it doesn't keep slipping, and makes the same amount as Infinity War from now until it's out of theaters in the US, that means it's got $126 million left to snag in the US. The difference between it and Avatar is $285 million worldwide, so the rest of the world has to push it by $159 million more.

If I had to guess, it will make it, but it's anything but assured.

That's actually built into it performing similar to Infinity War from here on out, as Spider-man is 48 days away: a comparable distance that Ant-man and the Wasp was to Infinity War. That said, Spider-man is more tied into Endgame, so it might have a better effect.

Honestly, twice was enough for me. Once on a regular screen, once on IMAX. It was great, but it was heavy. Heavier than IW because we knew that deaths this time were much more permanent.

Also, the heavy opening sales may mean everyone who gave IW a solid sales run may have already seen the film as many times as we wanted.

it also being 3hrs long, not including previews, means that casually deciding to go watch it is kind of a commitment, which makes repeated viewings something you need to plan. Especially if you are trying to catch it with a friend or two.
