TalkBack / Re: Level 5 Vision Sees Multiple Announcements For 3DS
« on: July 28, 2016, 08:51:33 AM »
Let's hope Lady Layton comes to NX.  I'm not going to want to play a 3DS game in April!  (assuming NX isn't delayed and actually releases in March)

TVii needs to be wiped from the Nintendo history books. Let's just all pretend it never happened.

The Top 5 is 100% correct.  Good show!

I got the amiibo earlier this week!  Thank you!

My 2-year-old daughter's new favorite toy is "pinkoshi" :D

The only reason I see to get this game on Wii U is if you just don't own a PS4 or XBO.  If they offered the DLC I'd buy it for Wii U in a heartbeat, but the DLC is too substantial and cool-looking for me to pass on it.

I had no idea we had such experienced engineers/product managers posting here on NWR. You all should be working for Nintendo!

Well that was unexpected.  Let me be first spoiled, entitled Nintendo fan to make a complaint: If only it was a mini SNES instead!

It really is the darkest timeline version of what a Club Nintendo replacement could be.

34
I loved looking back to make my list.  Really brought home that my experiences with eShop games on both 3DS and Wii U are a huge factor in how much fun I've had playing both platforms.

I'm with you 100% on Triple Deluxe being the best game in the entire Kirby platforming series. It may not have broken new ground, but pretty much every aspect was executed perfectly, whereas most other Kirby platformers always have some nagging flaw.

I can't wait to Planet Robonobobot.

37
I think they should go "full reboot" and just call it

The Nintendo

Radio Free Nintendo needs a promo spot by William Shatner or Robert Vaughn.

TalkBack / Re: Mutant Mudds Super Challenge (Wii U & 3DS eShop) Review
« on: March 17, 2016, 12:05:56 PM »
I certainly fall into the category of a "Mudds diehard," having beaten the original game (including ghost + grannie levels) 100% upwards of 20-25 times.  But if there's one thing I'm concerned about going into this one it's those boss fights.  One of the things I like the MOST about Mutant Mudds was its lack of bosses.  I've always found bosses in general to always be the least fun, most superfluous part of any platformer.

TalkBack / Re: Minecraft Coming To Wii U December 17: $29.99

Is this an exciting announcement? Not really.  But it is an absolutely necessary box that Nintendo can finally check.  Hopefully it's a signal that their relationships with third parties could be shifting. Probably not though.

Glad someone else agrees that button controls are superior in 2D Picross. Dealing with the F2P elements of the game are pretty annoying so far.  I finally just bought the number of digital doohickies that I thought aligned with what I was willing to pay for the game and hopefully that'll be enough for me to get through most of the content with no friction.

I'm sorry about that. Scheduling is hard

Oh I definitely wasn't complaining.  Hopefully it's extra motivation to reach the goal, putting a beloved segment later in the schedule.  We can make it!

Radio Trivia got pushed deep into the lineup this year! here's hoping we make it there!

Right? The live Radio Trivia is easily the highlight of the telethon every year for me.  So now we have to get to AT LEAST $3000.

Beyond all its other problems, it's unconscionable that this game has only one court.  Like, seriously?!

TalkBack / Re: Ranking Nintendo's Past 10 Holiday Lineups
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:18:17 PM »
2013 all the way. 3D World, Link Between Worlds alone make it my #1.  This is also because I am a diehard Nintendo fan who doesn't particularly like Smash Bros (gasp) so 2014 was never ever going to top my list.

47
And Mario Maker creeps ever closer to being the game it should have launched as a month ago.

I don't think this is a change they already had in the pipeline at launch, I'd bet a lot of money they jumped on it as soon they saw it was everyone's big criticism.  I guess I'm saying I don't think the game was "incomplete" at launch.  If Super Mario Maker had come out 10 or even 5 years ago, we would have had to wait for a sequel to get these features.

It bears saying that two of the times Nintendo's made a quick sequel re-using the previous entry's assets we got two of the greatest games they've ever released (Majora's Mask and SMG2 of course)

r u smarter then a fifth grader? If it's an American then no. ZING!

If you spend $30 on an 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' game then you definitely are not smarter than a 5th grader.

Does it have to be a platformer?

If not I would suggest Paper Mario!

I've been very ok with the moratorium on RPGs for retroactive. I say let's keep that going....
