Mafia LV: Mage's Mystery Day Three
« on: November 09, 2011, 06:55:59 AM »
When the council entered the room, there was a bloody body and a disfigured head floating before them. They recognized the blue robes the body wore, and those who aided in his death felt small pangs of guilt that were quickly erased by the king's orb revealing that the Usurper Stanos, a former councilman, was dead.

"The power of three is broken!"

"The power of three is broken" The orb restated. "But the king has been weakened, you must find him quickly if you mean to save him."

With that, the body, head, and orb vanished, leaving the council to once more question their decisions. Whatever confidence they gained from killing a usurper, was being subdued by the death of one of the king's protectors, and the knowledge that the king was weakened.

"What do we do now?" One of them asked.

"What else can we do? We must vote!"

Let the deliberations begin!!

OK, again, don't miss yesterday's ending story, PM me your ability uses, and good luck!
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

Let me just say again, if I didn't PM you your hp total, it's because it is the same as it was yesterday.

Sounds like the King took a hit last night. The killer or mafia must be on the move.

I'm going to vote stevey, a player who has been a bit too quiet.

Well, I didn't check the thread in time to see that Khush changed his vote; good thing...it looks like that hunch was wrong anyway.  It looks my record of voting for the wrong person in the last game has carried over thus far... :-[

Since I don't have any better ideas, I'll go with the motion to vote stevey for now.     I'll check back in after work.

The inexperienced Squire, khush failed to respect his senior and in turn failed to protect the king. Let's forget his foolish mistakes and uphold our duties to the king and country by attacking the true Usurpers: Vote Ceric

Since I don't have much of an idea who I can trust right now, I'm just going to come out and say it here. I'm the King. I was indeed attacked by the killer last night, as well as someone's ability, leaving me with 6HP. I don't think I'm gong to survive the night so there's no reason for me to not speak in public.

I think Khushrenada may have been onto something. Sure, he's an easy target, but I think that if he were aiming his suspicion at townies then he would have been left alone. The longer he survives, the more people suspect he's Mafia, especially if he votes out townies. So why off him unless he knows something?

What we should be wondering is, why was there no hit on the first day? It's possible that someone forgot it or even intentionally skipped the hit so they could say "Let's vote out inactive players!" to go after easy targets and hide themselves. But since a Mafia member was inactive and the person who suggested going after the inactives was a townie, this seems unlikely.

All things considered, I'm leaning towards ThePerm as being the Godfather. He didn't show up on the first day, he laid low on the second day, and today he was the first to throw out a vote, probably trying to keep votes away from him. Nickmitch is another possibility, it's tough to say.

Outright saying your role is a goofy strategy, but I'll go on assuming that Mop_it_up is the King. Assuming that there was no hits the first day, anyone who was inactive the first day could be a target. ThePerm comes to mind, but there were a few others I believe.

EDIT:

Nickmitch, Stevey, ThePerm, and Despicable were absent from Day 1. despicable has already been outed, so right now I think those three are our best options.

Stevey posted on the first day. Still, he has been acting strangely so I wouldn't be opposed to continuing that vote. If we do that then we should use our abilities on ThePerm.

Day 3

Milady,

My heart grows ever heavier as the days continue. His Majesty may be set to leave us soon, as he is growing weaker by the moment. He even saw fit to shed his disguise to advise us of his condition.

Such a stunning revelation came with a simple request, which I am bound by my honour to accept. When the votes are cast this evening, my ballot will read stevey.

May we reunite in peace soon.

With all my love,
- "Shaymin"

I don't like this whole situation. As I try to piece this all together all I can tell is that someone shut Khush up: however everyone can make night moves. Given how conspicuously he acted and his history of playing the meta-game it is entirely possible he spooked townies and mafia alike.

He had more than 10 HP and was done in 2 days. I suspect that he was being hit from multiple angles - which we can confirm from his unnatural sleepiness. This makes reading into all actions he did hard. If we had an investigator I'd probably have him investigate each of the people Khush named, but my guess is that Khush wasn't really sure either. That said, he's good at the meta-game.

With all that said, I still can't put it all together. I know stevey is done tonight, there's no changing that: the votes are cast. So, I will vote stevey not because I know anything but entirely because I want to get into the item drawing. My night moves though - this remain mine.

Yeah, I don't like the look of this either. I've got a feeling that his vote is being lead by the Mafia, but I can't change it. Pretty much everyone is laying low in this game though, so with so little discussion it's tough to figure out.

My ability actually investigates the person I use it on, but last night that was Khushrenada. I wanted to be sure that he was a townie. However, the story shows he was hit by the Mafia so I'm not the one that did him in.

It probably won't matter, but I'm going to Vote Stevey for an item.

"I must be the only idiot in the history of Leoria to break out of a dungeon only to get himself locked inside the castle. Stupid band of thieves selling me out. So what if I slept with the leaders sister? I mean I'm sure sleeping with his mom didn't help things either, but the old hag looked like she could use a turn in the hay. If only..."

Rogue not only stopped his soliloquy at the sound of footsteps, but his body and breathing as well. All of his training returned to him as he calculated the risks of both flight and fight.

"There's only one," he thought to himself "and he's scared."

Before ThePerm realized there was another person in the dark hallway with him, his spirit had already left his body and looked down upon his cold corpse and the man who killed him.

"If only I could tell them..."

"But you cannot." A familiar voice answered his thought.

"MY LIEGE!"

"Yes, councilman Luke, it is I, Zaden III, the last of his line. The demon was too much for me and overpowered me in my room last night. I was already weakened and could not stand against him."

"But what of the Regal Guard?" Luke asked, holding onto some hope that all was not lost.

"As you know, the Squire Artois was killed on account of the vote, and I am afraid that the Knight Jamisson has met the same end, at the hands of that blast blue orb I created."

"Knights of the Inferno!!" Luke swore. "How deeply have the usurpers infiltrated our council?"

"I know not, and care little my friend. My love for Leoria fades more in each moment after death. We walk among the spirits now. Come, let us join the others."

Stevey/Knight Jamisson - Killed by vote
Mop it up/King Zaden III - Killed by Globin Demon
ThePerm/Councilman Luke - Killed by Rogue
