"Jumpman" was the original name used for Mario in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, which featured several elements (such as the ladders and levels aspects) that would appear in Jumpman. Randy Glover has stated that Donkey Kong was the original inspiration for Jumpman[1], although it is not clear that the naming commonality is anything but a coincidence.

from Wikipedia.

I'm thinking about getting Sonic for the SMS since I knew a guy with that game back in my childhood...

HELL.  YES.  Hopefully we're not too far behind in the US.

How's the Genesis version compare to the SNES version?  I know there's an extra level, but does it hold up in other regards?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Got EWJ, suffers from emulation problems. Nothing massive, but still! =\

Yellow borders on the What the Heck? level (on top of the standard PAL black borders). For Pete's Sake level also has a thick black border on the left hand side of the screen.

Both crap... Unless the US goes back to 1 game a week the gap will just widen.

WiiWare-World has a profile for Home Sweet Home, but no review yet as this is the first time it's been released anywhere. Apparently this is a "home design simulation game":

http://www.wiiware-world.com/games/wiiware/home_sweet_home

I'm a little perturbed that the PAL VC still does not have either of the Art Style games yet. With lots of WiiWare games that should be on the way soon (Space Invaders Get Even--originally designated as an October release, Strong Bad Ep 3, Alien Crush Returns) I'm beginning to wonder when they'll fit Orbient and Cubello in.

I bet they won't even try to fit that in and silently drop the games.

Also there's a new firmware update needed for the shop channel, any word on how that affects the Homebrew Channel?

Yes.

Also, Hell Yeah for Castlevania III.  Maybe it'll come out here on Monday.  Maybe I'll finally be able to beat it.  doubtful on both accounts
