Zero and Joe the Condor Confirmed in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
« on: October 14, 2009, 12:58:41 PM »
The toughest G-Force member and the most famous Mega Man X character are unveiled.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=20149

IGN has confirmed two more characters in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars. From the Tatsunoko side comes Joe the Condor. He joins Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan as the third G-Force character in the game.

Representing Capcom is Zero from the Mega Man X series. Like Joe the Condor on the Tatsunoko side, Zero will be the third character to represent the Mega Man franchise. He will use an energy sword, in contrast to Mega Man's Buster shot attacks, for a more up-close fighting style.

An ESRB listing for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars mentions that the title will feature 26 characters. With the confirmation of Joe the Condor and Zero, 25 of the 26 characters have been revealed, with only one character left to be unveiled.

Great, the Mega Man X character most responsible for the property's downhill dive, post-SNES.

Saw the gameplay video last night and I love Zero. He is going to be fun to play as.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.

I thought Mega Man X was the most famous Mega Man X character.

That doesn't even make sense in this analogy.

The direction they took Zero in X6, which was promptly ignored and overrun, was the direction they planned to take in since at least X3, and probably X2.  The idea being that Sigma never seemed to die, but truthfully, neither did Zero, and while one seemed like a savior, his existence really was the reason for the whole problem, in nearly every case.

Anyways, at least it's the Mega Man X Zero, and not the Mega Man Zero Zero.  He even has several of the X4 techniques which make him very fun to play!

I like to pretend I didn't dream up the same game scenario as X5, but it's too late for that to ever change.  Seriously, I had a dream where about the same stuff happened.

Still, X4 was well within the story, and clarified a lot of things people were thinking upon release.  X5, again verified that Zero was the carrier of the Sigma Virus, but that things transferred to Sigma when they came in contact before.

X6 was meant to resolve the plotlines:  Zero freezes himself, rendering the virus inert, among things, and the storylines continues in the Mega Man Zero series.  The problem, then, becomes X7 and X8, which never even happened :-S

I didn't even realize the Mega Man X series had a story line.  (Honest!)

He's always around, and better to have around inside a video game than Zero.

The first game had an epic story that even began in the user manual, and setup itself well for its sequel.

I'm questioning whether or not to resign from the fanclub...

Zero was the original MegMan X before it was decided that this new megaman had no resemblance to the old, so they took lame old rock and tried to make him look a lil tougher, but not so much so that he could hold a beam saber without losing an X-buster..

in other words, he's too cool fo school and I'll probably end up buying this stupid game just for him.

I like to pretend that everything after X3 never happened.

Me too man, me too..

I thought the idea was to have both Sigma and Zero permanently dead with the end of X5 until Capcom decided that series is good for another few milkings?

Which one did X and Zero fight in?  Whichever that one was was supposed to be the end.

Still, the main ending in X6 was meant to make it so the series could NOT go on, and then it just didn't matter.

Psh, that doesn't actually happen!  You get all the parts of Zero back, so they never fight, Zero comes in, and scraps his duplicate.

You obviously didn't play the game the right way.

Anyways, I think it's "Ryuujin" that he's shown using... his saber catches on fire and he does a "shoryuken" style upward slash.  I'm not certain if that's what it's called in the game, but I was glad to see it was fire and not electricity.  I saw the video on a link at IGN somewhere.

Do NOT question the way I play my megaman games dammit. Trust me. i was only referring to the last good game in which you were able to fight Zero as X. Pretty much everything after 3 was...meh.

Oh, and playing it the "wrong' way was actually more fun since the battle with Zero is fucking EPIC. The music was killer and Zero's moves were badass.. **** i gotta replay this right fucking now.

5. It ends with Sigma killing Zero by vaporizing most of his body and, depending on how you played, either killing X as well or X living on, taking Zero's saber or forgetting entirely about Zero.
