Mafia XXVI: An Awful Time To Die. Watching from afar thread
« on: August 26, 2008, 12:46:13 AM »
Oh man. I wish I had the time to play this game.

This thread is for the lowest of the losers, those who didn't sign up, but want to comment on the game. And NO CHEATING in here either!

But 'Pelvic Thrust' What a great comeback.

Poor GP. She never lasts a day. You'd think James Bond would know how to treat a lady. And she had a role that would have been fun to play.

EasyCure will probably last till near the end, if not go all the way. Kashogi will find a way to screw up ;)

Pap, too bad. It happens to the best of us.

So, some people actually do follow the games even if they aren't playing. I've often wondered.

As for Golden Phoenix, I don't understand it either. I thought for sure she'd last awhile. She's been screwed over every other game and hadn't signed up for awhile. When I saw she drew the killer role, I thought it was great. I figured she would last a few days since surely some people would give her a chance to play and kill somebody else early for a change. But nope. Still killed early.

At the same time, it can be argued it was a good move since she was the killer. But the truth is, when I'm mafia, I'm thankful for the killer since it means there is a good chance two townies will be killed every night. The odds are in your favor at first. You want to reduce townie numbers fast. The ratio of townies to mafia is 4:1 so it should be interesting to se how the rest of the game plays out.

I'll go back to writing my story now.

I'm hijacking this thread because I'm too lazy to create a dead thread.

At the very least I brought vudu and golden with me, and that's good enough for me :D.

Don't flatter yourself.  You have nothing to do with GP's death and I doubt you had anything to do with mine.

Again, thank you for welcoming the only new player by voting him out Day 1 .... Way to sell it to other forum members. I can only wonder if the rest of this game will be played so coldly. I hate it and love it at the same time.

Pap died because he was being an ass.  You don't openly tell someone you don't like them and then expect no retaliation.  It doesn't matter if you were kidding, it's just not kosher.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I think someone is taking his death a little too seriously...

There there, everything will be alright. :)

NWR treats new Mafia players like they do new NWR forum posters. They try to kill them as soon as possible. It's a vicious and insular sub-culture we have here, yes it is.

Like I said, I expected it to happen. What would have been REALLY surprising is if the new player survives and ends up winning the game.

In other words, no one wants the noob to win, especially since we have the uber hardcore elite playing. ;)

Mantidor and ThePerm lived to the end of their first mafia game and won. I also won the first game I played and lived to the end. And those were all games with 30 or more players. Maybe it helps to have more people. Of course, we all had a role as well which may help. It's like I said, the toughest role to get for a new player is the plain townie role.

I nearly won my first Mafia, but I trusted someone I shouldn't have and it got me killed the day before the game ended.

I survived my first two or three mafia games and was on the winning team each time.

I had help from people who probably shouldn't have helped me though.

I knew I was going to die yesterday, but not like I did.  I was hoping to draw the Mafia to hit me, so that we could protect other townies.

Oh well, life goes on.  I hope the townies can pull out a win...I know they don't need me for that.  So, good luck townies.

The first time I played I lasted till end; Khush hooked it up though. The second time, I lost the game for everyone before it even started.

Third time, who knows?
