Star Wars Mafia: Day 1. Tatooine
« on: March 04, 2008, 01:06:33 AM »
Hi. George Lucas here. And I've got great news if you are a Star Wars fan.

The other day, I was working on the Special Special Edition of Star Wars. Well, I was trying to insert Jar Jar Binks into the background of the scene where Princess Leia records the message for Obi-Wan Kenobi into R2D2's memory, I accidently started the film on fire. It ended up burning most of the studio and I lost all the orginal copies of the Star Wars movies.

At first, I was disheartened. But then I remember my team at Industrial Light and Magic. Suddenly, I realized that I was no longer restrained by the old footage I had shot. It was gone and I could recreate the Star Wars universe into something better. I could make it faster, stronger, smarter and more technically advance then ever before. And I wouldn't have to worry about the actor's aging since every character would be 3-D generated. I could remove any plot holes or errors and I could tell a more action packed story that was bogged down by slow scenes.

Now, as we approach the release of my New Star Wars Special Special Edition, I'm pleased to pull back the curtain and reveal the story to you. Part nostalgia and part brand new, I think you'll be just as excited as I am at the way things have turned out.

The story begins on Tatooine........

Details:

Voting will end at Midnight EST.

There is no rules for how many times you must vote. So, it's up to you to call out players not participating.

If you want to claim to be a townie, just say that the message you got for your new role was: You are now a townie and are worth 1 point if killed by the bounty hunter. Pretty much all townies got that excpet for the ones worth more points. Now, no one knows who is really a townie and who isn't.

Day 1 Bill

The first bill has been proposed. It is as follows:

"There comes a time in every man's life when he must learn to dream, to dine, and to die.  There comes a time when people have to sing, people have dance, and have to cheer.  This bill is to create a world where this is all possible.  See, sometimes one has to ramble and jamble, rossle and russle, and jingle and jangle their way up to the top of this game.  I'm here to make this easier for you all.  I want to make life worth living for everyone, so I promise tax rebates!  Tax rebates for all!  And a few things, all packaged into one bill, as follows:  Townies that have no role may send a vote to Khushrenada each day.  Whoever wins that vote is protected from the mafia's hit and the bounty hunter that night.  The neutral players will only be susceptible to the vote, rather than other's actions, like the mafia's kill.  Now then, to make things more fair for the mafia with these changes, the force choke may choose three players to kill, rather than the limit of one."  This shall give all players a greater opportunity to play this game!  I do hope that give this bill a fair chance!  And voice what you want to happen in subsequent bills!"

Not sure whether neutral players means people who don't vote or something else but once I get the Senator to explain that more, I'll update you.

Since I was unable to set up a poll for the day, we shall just have to vote by sending me a yay or nay response to the bill. You have until 12:30 a.m. EST to vote for the bill or half an hour past the voting deadline.

Remember, only votes cast in the poll count. I consider any votes posted in the voting thread as hearsay since a person may just be saying they voted a certain way to hide their true intentions.

Here's my crazy theory:

                 NOTHING
                                 IS WRITTEN
                       HERE!
                                  TOO
                                         BAD!

And so in conclusion I have decided to VOTE CHANGED

Just throwing out a random vote, subject to change!

Alright, I'm gonna speak up sooner than later about this.  Voting not to kill anyone is a poor decision.  It's ineffective.  I've heard arguments that there's no sense in it, and that we should see what happens over night, but this is poor reasoning.  Anyone with a role is certain to defend themselves from the vote pretty easily, right?  Or at least, anyone with a townie role would be able to do so.  If they don't, this player was likely dead weight anyways, so no loss.  Aside from that, the vote will likely kill someone who is either a townie with no role or a mafia player.  So what's the loss?  That townie could be you, yes, but chances are, it won't be, and there's been some very accurate finds from the vote on day one.  Voting "No Vote" erases the chance for that to happen, and just gives the mafia a free day to kill people.

In fact, last game, people elected not to lynch anyone the first day, and by the second one, they realized they made a mistake when the mafia murdered one of the more valuable players.  So, for this matter, anyone who votes "No Vote" is at the top of my list.  If you don't want a grudge to be held on you, vote Pale or don't vote at all, but mention that you aren't voting because you don't know anything.

Changing all the roles was totally lame.  :(

Also, I think it's funny that I got a vote because frigging thatguy DIDN'T vote for me so apparently that makes me look guilty.

So I'm not happy with the name changing... I have no idea who is who or any idea who to vote for.

Voting is going to get confusing because some votes are for their play names and others for their forum names....

I really think everyone should AT LEAST put their forum name in () or something.
