Just make a picture, and change the file extension from a .gif or a .jpg, or whatever to .txt.  Your browser won't care that the file extension is wrong.

Well, Netscape might be different on Macs, but on a PC, Netscape is among the worst browsers (even worse than the dreaded Internet Exploder).  If it works better for you, power to ya though.

why did netscape loes against IE and other browsers..? It sucks. My friend couldtn understand this because he was uterly biased against Microsoft. Netscape is slowass. My friend said BNetscape would be faster on a mac. Its not. IE still beats it. Howewver MS is dropping Mac IE support and will be destroyede by safari.

Netscape just bothered me.  It took a good 10 seconds simply to start up, and once it did start up, it was slow as hell.  IE was a much better alternative, even though it cheated and loaded up most of its required files at startup.  IE browses a hell of a lot faster than Netscape, and doesn't FREEZE upon loading a new page.

The interesting thing is that the Netscape programmers really screwed up a basically good thing.  Mozilla and Firebird are both built off of the Gecko core, the same as Netscape, and are FAR superior browsers.  Firebird loads quicker than IE, and browses about twice as fast.  The Netscape engineers just sucked.

I hate Netscape even more, as most people use it to say that IE is the best browser around, as Netscape is the most famous alternative browser, and since it sucks so bad, nobody wants to use it.  If you aren't aware that there are better alternatives, then you will stick to using IE, which is a crime against humanity.

Yeah, Netscape does stink.  I only used it for a few minutes so I could fix my profile since I was getting that error message on IE.  As I said in the other thread, I went back to IE immediately after.  Netscape is ridiculously slow so I wouldn't use it daily.  I will try downloading Firebird again and switch to that.  But, Berny, I'm glad that my silly way of getting around the error message helped you.  It wasn't until Rick posted that his browser was fine that I realized it was a browser issue and not a site issue.

Yeah, Netscape's pretty bad, but hell, I've an avatar and a new sig so it's worth the half hour startup time. Grey Ninja, is M$ really dropping Mac support for IE? That's terrible news. Terrible. Can't wait to get a new comp. Should be sometime soon...I hope...Then I will have OSX. HURRAY FOR FIREBIRD!

I really don't know if MS is dropping Mac support.  I don't have, use, or want a Mac, so they could cease to exist entirely for all I care.

Try this however.  You might like it a little more.  It's not being updated for Macs anymore, but it SHOULD be better than that horrid IE thing.

Yeah, I kinda had a feeling you'd be one to talk Macintrash, GN. To each his own. Anyways, it's at least downloading. Slowly but surely. That's a good sign...I think.

Berny, I'm sorry if I've misunderstood what you said but, you don't have to keep using netscape now that you've got your avatat, etc.  It will all be fine and working when you go back to IE.  It's only if you need to update do you have to go back to Netscape.

RABicle have you seen the whole "background image disappearing" problem with safari?  It does it with my site (palehour link in my sig) and I can't figure out how to fix it.  It's the only browser that has this problem.  The background disappears when you scroll down...
