Greetings and Congratulations!

This letter is to notify you that you've been chosen as a confirmed Beta
Tester to test PlayOnline(TM), FINAL FANTASY(R)XI and Tetra Master(TM) on
the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. The Public Beta Test will
begin in June. A Beta Test kit including the Internal Hard Disk Drive (40GB)
(for PlayStation(R)2) will be mailed to the address you've provided in the
coming weeks with detailed instructions.

Important - Beta Testers

The HDD shipped for use in the public beta test for PlayOnline, FINAL
FANTASY XI and Tetra Master is only compatible for use with the PlayOnline,
FINAL FANTASY XI and Tetra Master beta test software.  Use or attempted use
with any other software or use outside of the beta test may harm or
interfere with the operation of your PlayStation(R)2 system or other
devices.

Upon conclusion of the Beta Test, Sony Computer Entertainment America
requires you to return the beta test HDD in the original beta kit box using
the return-shipping label enclosed in your kit.

Once Sony Computer Entertainment America receives the beta test HDD unit and
in appreciation for your participation in the Beta Test, SCEA will send you
a new consumer HDD unit, free of charge.

Please reference the Beta Test Handbook for details (inside your Beta Test
Kit).  If you have any questions, please reply to this email address and
include your full name in your letter.

Thank you for your continued interest and support of PlayOnline.

See you online,

PlayOnline Information Center Team

Sounds like a really sweet deal to me!  I'll take the free hard drive anyday!  If anyone else has gotten in tell me so we can kill stuff together!

I bet we will find out about the GBA issue at E3.  To me it is a serious letdown.

NWR Feedback / Avatar Rules?

What are the rules for Avvy's.  According to my avvy I did something wrong.  What did I do wrong?  There were no rules listed under avatars.

Nintendo Gaming / May have to shelve my Cube for awhile...
« on: April 17, 2003, 04:02:06 PM »
I chose red also.  The Uber ending is very cool and ties up a lot of loose ends in the plot (it justifies all the actions taken in the game).  Thats all I will say

I was considering Burnout 2, but Midnight Club 2 is too tempting....

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker is the best game ever

The GBA/GC linkup is very very fun, my friend and I are using it right now!

Nintendo Gaming / GameCube oversells PS2 in the UK
« on: March 27, 2003, 03:11:57 PM »
I can't keep track of all this stuff.  If there was a chain that cut the prices of the Cubes in America, I think there would be a pretty big uproar from Nintendo and the competing stores.

15
and the french comic is a total rip off of the Bourne Identity....

Nintendo Gaming / Penny-Arcade: Gabes take on Wind Waker

I mean, if you want to talk about hard work, look at comic strip artists in newspapers. They have to personally write and draw a strip for every single day of the week, much larger ones on Sundays, weeks in advance while Penny-Arcade is done by two people on computers and only puts out 3 strips a week. Who's really the harder worker?

The thing is, is that Penny-Arcade's comics include a KEY feature that the weekly comics dont have, color.  Tycho can quicky sketch out some comics and post them everyday, but adding colors, and getting that right is a lot more work than we think, and each comic is accompanied by a well written rant (sometimes).  PA is class and I have nothing wrong with them, they have the right to say anything they want, if you don't like it read something else...

But anyway, Rick, I have a friend who thought, "Ocarina just wasn't fun..". Yes I agree that this comment is heresy, I was on the brink on dishoning him and not socializing with him (but he's good at Warcraft 3 and I need Arranged Teammates).  He is a huge fan of Link to the Past.  Will he enjoy Wind Waker?

I'm going to take a wait and see approach to this.  I held one at Toy's R Us in Times Square this weekend, and I still felt like my hands were too big for it.  *shrugs*

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing, what's soo good about the game?
« on: March 02, 2003, 07:19:54 AM »
The fact that your girlfriend will get into video games is whats good about it.  My gf started playing it last night, and she was like "wow this is really cool".

TalkBack / Sega Officially Kills GameCube Sports Development
« on: February 07, 2003, 03:57:36 PM »
Tthis is truly a sad day for GC owners.  Now we only have 1 option for sports games, and that's EA.  NFL 2k3 wiped the floor with Madden.  Sega does not become the #1 publisher in the world by doing this.  Make more ports Sega, as soon as you run out of old games to port, what are you going to do...?

Nintendo Gaming / Sega!
« on: February 03, 2003, 05:18:48 PM »
I bought two Sega games this week, Skies and Beach Spikers.  I want more new games!   There hasn't been a single original game released for Gamecube by Sega, they are all ports of previous games (that I can recall).   Ugh, hopefully we shall see something soon!
